I have been feeding my yard birds some peanuts in and out of the shells. The peanuts attract some of my favorite yard birds, I see the Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Downy Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Chickadees, Cardinals, I am still seeing the winter birds like the White-throated Sparrows and the Dark-eyed Juncos.

1. April 5th, the Blue Jays love the peanuts, they sit in the trees and just squawk letting me know they are hungry.

2. The Blue Jays seen waiting for the peanuts to be put on the deck railing.

3. A Tufted Titmouse can be quick at grabbing a peanut and flying off.

4. A mosaic of Blue Jays, Tufted Titmouse and a Eastern Phoebe almost hidden behind the branches.

5. April 6th, Nibbles and Winnie take a walk on the fire road.

6. A Double-crested Cormorant is seen at the lake.

7. April 7th, the dogs warned me by barking when they heard a banging on the window, I looked out and saw an American Robin sitting in the rhododendron outside out window.  A Cardinal looked on watching the Robin banging against the window.

8. A larger sized photo of the American Robin, crazy bird survived the window.

9. The Male Cardinal sitting on the gutter watching the Robin, saying I've been there, done that.

I wish everyone a Blessed and Happy Easter and Passover! 🙏

I have a mish mash of photos from our walks on the fire road, the grand dogs Nibbles and Winnie and a bonus image. 🐰  🐤  🌼

1. March 26th,  hubby and I took a walk on the NCR bike trail without the dogs. We passed a few other dog walkers and I saw and heard many birds. I could only catch one photo of a Sparrow in the brush along the trail.

2.  A closer look at the Sparrow, is it a female White-throated Sparrow or a Song Sparrow.  I need to see the front of this bird, I did hear some WT SParrows during our walk.

3.  March 26th, back at home I see a grab and go  Tufted Titmouse grabbing a peanut and taking off quickly.

4.  March 30th, our walk to the lake with the grand-dogs.

5. April 2nd, taking the grand dogs for a walk to the lake.  Looks like someone else likes our favorite spot at the lake.

6.  As we walked the fire road to the lake, I noticed some Golden-crowned Kinglets moving around high in the tree tops.

7. We wanted to see the Bald Eagles nest near the lake, images below are from our walk. Top left, Golden-crowned Kinglet, pine trees, Bald Eagle. Middle row, the female Bald Eagle on the nest, Prettyboy Reservoir, the male Bald Eagle in flight. Bottom row are the Canada Geese on the lake,  male and female Bald Eagle both at the nest and more Canada Geese.

8. The male Bald Eagle is sitting above the nest, the female looks as if she is leaning over an eaglet.

Bonus plus critters, we met up with our son and his family for lunch in Waynesboro Pa. Across the street from the restaurant was a dairy farm, I always love seeing the cows.

Birding has been a little slow lately, I am still seeing some winter birds here, not many spring birds have arrived yet. I have been seeing the Carolina Chickadees working on their nests.

1. I have been seeing more Robins in my yard, they must be finding some tasty berries to eat.

2. March 18th a Canada Goose at the reservoir, looks like it is napping.

3.  March 19th, we are taking the grand-dogs for a walk on the local fire road.  Our weather was warm on this day, the temperatures have been all over the place lately.

"Sometimes all you need is good company."

4. March 22nd, our walk to the lake we saw a group of Canada Geese.

5. March 22nd hanging out at our lake with the geese were a male and female Hooded Merganser.

6. March 23rd, another walk with the grand-dogs on the fire road.

7. March 25th, hubby and I entertained our grandson Wyatt while our DIL took grandson Mason for his 2 month checkup. While waiting in the car, I watched a Mockingbird and a House Finch perched above on the gutter eating berries. Can you find the two birds?

Bonus photo... March 25th  our grandson Wyatt 13 months, he is doing well. A very happy boy.

Happy April!  These are some images from March, more birds sightings and some grand dog photos taken during our walks on the fire roads. The weather continues to be crazy, from warm temperatures to below freezing, rain, snow and sleet and lots of windy days.

1. March 14th there was some snow left on the fire road, we had about 4 inches the day before. The Pine Warblers love the forest around our home, I hear them every day during our walks and from my yard.

2. Grand dogs Nibbles and Winnie on one of our daily walks on the local fire road.

3. I have some peanuts in the shell that I put out on the deck railing for my yard birds, below are the Northern Cardinal, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Tufted Titmouse, Northern Flicker and a Blue Jay.

4. The trail next to the lake, Prettyboy Reservoir. The grand dogs love their walks.

5. March 15th again we found the Trumpeter Swans at the lake in a different spot, this sighting is closer to home.

6.  Still a distant look at the Trumpeter Swans.

7.  March 16th our walk with the grand dogs, Mourning Dove, a distant Brown Creeper high in a tree and bottom images are the Hermit Thrush.

8. March 18th, a pair of Eastern Bluebirds visited my yard and checked out the bird houses. I think a Chickadee had already claimed the house they wanted to use.

 9.  March 19th our walk to the lake with the grand dogs.

10. March 19th, I noticed a Pileated Woodpecker at a wood pile in the back of our yard. While watching this bird, it flew across the driveway to the woods to meet up with it's mate.

That's all folks, I have been enjoying our walks with the dogs, birdwatching in my yard and neighborhood. Now, I am looking forward to seeing your critter post.
