We seem to be stuck with this super cold weather. I try to get outdoors for a walk, Hubby and Miney are my walking companions.

1. These are images from our walk on the fire road to the lake. I saw a juvenile Bald Eagle sitting on the ice covered lake. After our walk we drove around the other side of the lake to the boat dock and saw a few Common Mergansers.

2. The first day of the New Year we had a dusting of snow.

3. Another walk with hubby and Miney on the local Prettyboy fire road.

4. A walk with Hubby and Miney on the NCR bike trail in Parkton Md.

5.  We started off our walk on the bike trail with the Pileated Woodpecker seen eating berries high in a tree top.

6.  We saw  10-12 Cedar Waxwings in a tree next to the NCR Bike trail in Parkton, Md.

7.  Two White-throated Sparrows, they are winter birds in my area.

8. Can you find the two deer?  We saw six together but they must have separated.

9. Hubby and Miney take a break sitting at a picnic table.

Sorry, I continue to be behind sharing my photos. It is still Autumn, the colorful trees are still looking beautiful.

1. Miney and I usually enjoy a brisk walk every day, she is a happy dog when the leash comes out.  Photos below are from our local fire road trail.

2. On this day hubby was with me and Miney on a walk to the front lake.  The water level is down again due to the recent drought.

I attached the Prettyboy birds heard on my Merlin App. The Killdeer like when the lake is low, they hang out on the beachy area.

My Merlin App picked up the sounds of the Cedar Waxwings. I have heard and seen the Cedar Waxwings along this trail.

I see the Merlin App picked up the Black-capped Chickadee, my area could overlap with the Carolina Chickadee.

I watched a few of the Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers on the trees next to the fire road trail. Two were chasing each other around the tree.

3. Hubby took a turn holding Miney's leash, nice to get a break if I want to take any bird photos.

The Prettyboy Reservoir looks low, the drought seems to be continuing in this area.

4. Hide and seek, if you can find them there are two Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers on this photo below.

5. Not a critter but the Japanese Maple trees on our front lawn looked beautiful this fall.

6. Some of my backyard images, the Peacock came for a visit, Miney likes to watch Mr Blue the Peacock. One of my neighbors told me he named the peacock Mr Blue because a few years ago the peacock showed up out of the blue. The berries are colorful on our Dogwood tree and the Holly bushes and the Japanese Maple is looking pretty.

7. The Peacock is heading down our neighbors driveway, he does not like Miney.

Happy August, wishing everyone a great month!

Here I am chugging along, sharing photos from June. The photos are from my yard, our walks with Miney on the Prettyboy fire roads. Hubby's treatment is going well, it is something he will have to do for the rest of his life or try for the kidney transplant list which can take up to 5 years.

1. June 7th, Miney on the fire road. I hear the Ovenbirds during all my walks, they have a really loud sound.

I noticed on my walks, I hear the same birds in almost the same spot as previous walks.  The Worm-eating Warbler is one that seems to stay in an area off of the fire road that is steep hill.

2. We bought some annuals for our deck, below are Honeybells a new plant for me, the Lantana and two different colors of Zinnias. I was happy to see a hummingbird at the Lantana.

"Let the birds of peace, fly around."

3. June 8th, a walk to the lake, we saw lots of Canada Geese and a couple of Double-crested Cormorants.

We have a Spirea bush in our yard, over the years it has grown really big. This year it had lots of pretty blooms.

4. June 10th, Miney decided she wanted to walk through the ferns off to the side of the fire road.

5. June 14th, a couple of the birds heard on my walk were the Hooded Warbler top left and the Pine Warbler top right.

At this time in mid June I was hearing the Cedar Waxwings while I was out on fire road.

6. June 15th, another walk on the local fire road with Miney, at home there was a deer on the neighbors driveway.

7. June 17th, a walk with Miney we saw a lot of Indian Pipe also known as Ghost Pipe. It is not a mushroom but a unique flowering plant. It does get it's nutrients from fungi and thrives in shady wooded areas.

8. My flashback images are from August 2022, a common bird seen year round, in and around my yard is the Tufted Titmouse.

This Tufted Titmouse could be sunning themselves or anting. Both are consider maintenance for their feathers.

As usual I am behind, posting my photos on our outings and walks in various parks, my neighborhood and my back yard birdwatching. These are all from November and some December photos.

1. Nov 1st, this mosaic and the next one are from our walk at the local Leister Park in Hampstead Md. They have a nice walking trail and I can usually find some birds. Below are images of the trail, a flock of blackbirds, a Squirrel and a unknown Hawk, we met and passed by a women and her three Corgis on their walk and there were some beautiful Autumn colors.

2. Also off the trail we saw a flock of Cedar Waxwings eating berries.

3. On the way home from the park above, I was driving down our street and saw this Bald Eagle on the ground eating something unknown.

4. Nov 3rd, we have many options for our walks around the Prettyboy watershed, this is one of our favorites. We saw a flock of Dark-eyed Juncos eating off the ground and a Turkey Vulture in flight and bottom left are the neighbors turkeys that she raises to sell for Thanksgiving.

5. Nov 5, Our walk on the NCR rail trail in Parkton, we saw a Great Blue Heron, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Carolina Chickadee, male Downy Woodpecker and a White-breasted Nuthatch.

6. Nov 7th, we drove a little further away for our walk at the Conowingo Dam and Susquehanna River. We wanted to see if the Bald Eagles arrived.  We only saw a few Eagles both juvenile and adult Bald Eagles.  There were plenty of Black Vultures, Cormorants and a Great Blue Heron and we saw a deer off the river trail below the dam.

7. Another walk on our local Prettyboy fire road, I saw lots of berries and a cute bunny.

8. Another fire road walk to the front section of the Prettyboy reservoir, we saw a group of Canada Geese and we saw that the female Hooded Mergansers have arrived for the winter.

9. Dec 7, I looked out my kitchen door and noticed our missing Peacock was back on our deck.  He gobbled up some of the peanut suet nuggets that I feed my birds.

10. Bonus: Nov 10th, our granddaughter Sophie was baptized.

I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday  I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.
