Happy Thankful Thursday!

 Happy Thursday,

I am sharing some pretty sunset images taken from my back yard and deck.  The full moon images were from the end of October.

 1. Full moon taken on October 31st. I was thankful for clear skies on Oct 31st, the first full moon of October we had rainy cloudy skies.

I wonder of anyone else is having problems leaving comments, I can type a comment and it will just disappear when I click publish.  I have been having to do the verification with the pictures on most comments too. I am not a ROBOT!!!! Is this happening with you?

2.  The second full moon in October, called the Blue Moon.

3.  The moon seen on November 3rd. The moon phase is called Waning Gibbous.

4.  The sunset on Nov 3rd, the sky was looking beautiful.

5. The sunset colors can change in minutes, they went from looking orange to a pretty pink and purple sky.

6. I am thankful for a beautiful sunset and a lovely end to the day.

7.  I am thankful  and it is a pleasure to watch my back yard birds.

My bird for the day is the Hairy Woodpecker, it looks so similar to the Downy Woodpecker but it is larger in size.  The beak is thicker and the body is just bigger overall.  I can watch both the Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers visit my feeders.

Thankfully, we are happy and continue to be healthy.
I wish you all good health, take care and stay safe!

Go outside and breathe deeply.  Enjoy every moment.

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Keep smiling!

Blue Moon

I am linking up with NF Winged   and  Skywatch Friday

Aug 22, 2013

It's time for Skywatch and my birds for NF Winged, I hope to see everyone sharing their skies and birds. On August 20 there was a rare full moon. The full moon this August is known as the Blue Moon or the Full Sturgeon Moon. It is the third of four full moon in a season, most seasons only have 3 full moons. My shot was actually the full moon setting on the morning of August 21.

I just love zooming in on the moon, it is so beautiful.

The shadow in the bottom right is part of our pine tree. The moon was starting to set behind the tree.

Skywatching from our deck...watching the contrail.

Another one of hubby's sunset shots at our lake.

And now for the NF Winged part of my post I am sharing one of my juvenile Cardinals, Turkeys and a couple butteflies.

One of the neighbors is raising turkeys..you can reserve one for Thanksgiving Day dinner.

A Fritillary Butterfly on our Buddleia butterfly bush.

A Tiger Swallowtail on our pretty butterfly bush.

  Happy Skywatching everyone!

SWF>Blue Moon & Reflections

Hi another week has rolled around and I am linking up my post with Skywatch Friday

These are some local shots of our reservoir, the blue moon and a few of my yard birds.

In morning before leaving for work I was able to catch the almost full Blue Moon setting.

The sky from my deck, the clouds were beautiful.

One of my pretties, the American Goldfinch found something yummy on this seashell I have sitting on my deck.

A first of the winter season bird has already arrived to the woods around my house, a really Red-breasted Nuthatch. What a cutie one of my favorites. I hope this does not mean we will be having an early winter. I am not looking forward to snow at all.

The reflection of the sky on the lake.

In the evening the blue moon was rising above the lake. I hope you enjoyed my skies and birds of course.

Thanks to Sylvia and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday!. Thank you for stopping by to see my post. I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend.
