Around the yard_June 29

Linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences

I wish everyone in the USA  a very Happy 4th of July!

Since most of my outings are on the weekend I am sharing some various scenes. One is on the way to my son's place and from my son's backyard,  my moon shot from my deck & yard and hubby is sharing his sunset shot at our lake. It is a hodge podge of photos for Tex's Good Fences and for Skywatch Friday!

We pass this farm and barn every time we visit my sister and now when we visit my son's new place..I have always loved this barn.. So, I just had to pull over and get a shot. It is perfect also for Tex's Good Fences..

A closer look at my favorite barn, a cute horse and donkey..

The fence scene in my son's backyard with his pretty white dogwood..The previous owner was a older lady that loved to garden.. I hope my son takes care of all her pretty plants..

I am pretty sure that this is a Great-Crested Flycatcher in my weeping cherry tree. I can only say that because of the sounds I was hearing from this bird.  The Flycatcher can be tricky to me.

The crescent moon taken on the evening of June 30, 2014

And this is hubby favorite place to watch the sunset at our lake..A pretty sky and a beautiful reflection. Hubby is becoming a great photographer..

I hope you enjoyed my post and photos from our weekend walk..

Sunrise to Sunset

It's time for some of my favorites memes Skywatch Friday and  NF Winged.

These shots are all from this past Saturday. The same day as our visit to Fort McHenry and Snow Buntings on my post below. I started by taking shots of our backyard sunrise and ended with our sunset from along the road home and our backyard. Also, included were a few of my backyard birds.

Looking west the sky and clouds turned a pretty pink with the sunrise.

A shot of the crescent moon above our house.

I am pretty sure this is a juvenile Purple Finch. He found a happy spot on my deck railing.

The Red-Breasted Nuthatches are one of my favorite visitors in the winter.

We stopped along the road to enjoy this sky, we were almost home.

The last couple of shots were taken at my front street and backyard.

To see more beautiful photos and pretty skies please visit Skywatch Friday
and to see more of the winged critters check out NF Winged

Thanks to Sylvia and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday! Thanks to Monica the host of NF Winged. Also, thank you for stopping by to see my post. I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend.

SWF>>>>Walk in the woods

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday

These are some shots of the skies with the moon and planets over my backyard. Also,  some shots from my walk with Goldie Girl on the fireroad going thru the woods to the lake.

These shots of the crescent moon were taken on  Feb. 26. I enjoyed looking at the moon when it was lined up with Venus and Jupiter. My son was able to show me where to locate various stars. It was a beautiful evening with a clear sky. I was able to focus on just the crescent moon.

I would have loved to have a clearer shot that included all three Jupiter, the moon and Venus. My moon in the middle looks like it has a star effect when it should look like the crescent moon in the photo above. I guess I need some more practice.

I like this view looking up at the sky thru the pine trees.

Goldie Girl and I checked out the reservoir, I spotted some Common Mergansers across the lake way too far away for my camera.

I was checking out the treetops looking for a "new" bird or first of season bird when I spotted one of my regulars the Tufted Titmouse.

More of the Turkey and Black Vultures flying over my yard. It is like clockwork, they arrive back into the trees next to my house every evening.

This photo above of the full moon was taken in the morning of March 6. The moon was setting and I watch it slide down behind my backyard trees.
