Saturday's Critters #370

 Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Hello and happy Saturday!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

My post is on dogs and more dogs.  I have always been a dog lover, during our travels I tend to greet any dog I see on the trails. These are some of the dogs hubby and I have met in various places.  A few birds are included...

1.  A pretty Collie was seen on a beach near the Palm Coast,  during one of our many Florida trips.

 2.  These two Golden Doodles loved my hubby.

3. I met this cute puppy while waiting for my hubby who was hiking up a mountain trail in Colorado.

4. Sol Duc Falls in Washington, hubby sat on a bench and this dog walked over and practically sat in my hubby's lap.

5. This dog was waiting for it's human to return.

6.  All the dogs we met have been very friendly and well behaved.

7. This was another cute puppy we met on the trails at Lake Parker Florida.

8. Some times we came across dogs meeting other dogs on the trail. This was one of our regular Florida walks, the trails at Lake Parker.

9. We also met a lot of birds on our walks, Lake Parker was a very "birdie" park.  Some times the birds were right on the trail. Below is the Roseate Spoonbill and a couple of Wood Storks standing on the bridge. We had to wait till they moved off.

10.  This is Peaches, she was our neighbor's dog when we lived in Lakeland Florida.

 11.  This was a new sight for hubby and I to see on our bike trail. Apparently you can book a ride with this sled dog adventure. On this day it looked like a group of girl scouts were going to be going for the sled rides.

12. Maryland  Sled Dog Adventures on the NCR trail. These dogs looked and sounded so happy, very excited to start running.

I didn't hear GO, I tried to get a shot of them taking off but I looked up from my camera they were down the trail already. The sled has wheels but when we have snow on the ground they use  a regular sled.

My World, 11th Blog Anniversary

Hello,

Happy Monday!  It is my 11th blog anniversary, these years have flown by.  I have many great memories looking back at my older blog post. My post shared years of birding, enjoying all things nature and traveling.  All the things I love and I hope you love too.  During the first part of 2020, we were limited on what we could do and where we could go due to the Covid virus. I am not sure if or when things will ever return to normal.  Covid is not something I like to blog about, I just wish for happier times and good health for all.

So images randomly picked from my past 11 years of blogging.  I hope you enjoy and I thank all my blog visitors for all the past and future comments.

I have my eye on you!  Wood Duck , Nov 2009..Original post Wood Duck_November 2009

I started making the mosaic images and participating with Mary and her blog called Little Red House. Mary was the host of Mosaic Monday back in 2009.  Now Angie of the blog Letting Go of the Bay Leaf is the host of Mosaic Monday. Maybe you can join in with the mosaic making party.

Various Toucans, seen in the wild during our Costa Rica trip in March 2010. Original post Costa Rica trip_Toucans

In 2015, I blogged about our Washington state trip and a visit to the Dungeness Spit. This spot is my favorite near Sequim Washington, hubby and I almost moved there. We had a realtor show us a few homes.  One home was perfect,  we are kicking ourselves for not buying.   My original post was a year end for 2015 Year end 2015

Starting in Oct 2016, I started blogging from our place in Lakeland Florida, we were just a walk away from a lake and this Tricolored Heron.  My original blog post is here  Lakeland-Florida

I started my Skywatch blog post back in 2009 with the Skywatch hosting team of Sandy, Wren, Sylvia, Louise, Fishing Guy and Klaus. A few of these bloggers Louise and Klaus have passed away, they are missed.  The others are MIA, I believe Tom, the Fishing Guy has stopped blogging. Now Alan of the blog Yogi's Den is the Skywatch Host at  http://yogisden.us/

Saturday's Critters #298

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Happy Labor Day weekend!!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

A sad memory, our Goldie Girl left us on Aug 31, 2014. Even though it has been 5 years, I still miss her.

5th Anniversary, a tribute to Goldie Girl.

"A pet is never truly forgotten, until it is no longer remembered." Lacie Petitto

"Dogs leave paw prints on our hearts."

"What a beautiful world it would be...if people had hearts like dogs."

"Animals are like angels, they lift us up when we feel down."

"What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply, become a part of us." Helen Keller

"If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." Will Rogers

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole."

Random rants and in the news, for the critter lovers:

Save a life,  ADOPT, Don't Shop!

Adopting a dog from a shelter, not only means you are give him/her a happy life but you can free a spot for another rescue dog. I read recently in the news, Delaware is being recognized as the first no-kill state for animal shelters. There are many benefits to adopting a pet from a shelter, they are up to date on their shots, they have been spayed or neutered. Your state may have adoption events, low cost vet clinics and behavioral programs.

I plan to adopt when hubby and I feel we are at the point of traveling less. Pets can actually be healthy for seniors, they are loyal companions, they increase social and physical activities. They are good for your body and soul.

I will catch up with comments ASAP.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !

Saturday's Critters #41

Saturday's Critters #41

Happy weekend and welcome to Saturday's Critters! I am sorry I will not be around till later in the day..  I do hope to catch up as soon as possible.. I hope everyone enjoys today's critters.

This is the hardest post I have ever done..it is a tribute my Goldie Girl.. We said our final goodbyes to Goldie on Labor Day weekend..I am just about able to talk about her. At first, I would  tear up and have a lump in my throat.. She had many illnesses and we just felt it was better for her comfort to let her go. The vet said the Golden Retrievers find a way to tolerate and hide their pain.  I know she is in doggie heaven with our other dogs Sunshine, Daisy and Maui. Maybe they are playing together now.

Sweet Goldie Girl...I miss you!  I know many of my followers have gone thru the loss of their dear pets, they are family..It was over 12 years ago we said goodbye to our other dogs and I still miss them too.

Above are Daisy, Maui , Sunshine and way in the rear Sierra.

Above are my favorite dogs, Goldie Girl and the bottom row Daisy our first Golden, Maui a chocolate Lab and in the rear Sunshine our Yellow Lab.  Bottom right another shot of Daisy.. I miss them all right now!!

I saved this post until today because I need some time  before I could talk about Goldie's passing. It also helped we had our Colorado vacation planned and I was not at home in what felt like an empty home without Goldie Girl.

Thank you for linking up to the critter party. I appreciate the visits, comments and the support of my blogging friends................... Have a happy weekend!

Saturday's Critters #38

Saturday's Critters #38

Happy weekend and welcome to Saturday's Critters! I am looking forward to seeing lots of your critters this week.

My hummingbirds are still here having their wars over the feeders.. Above is a sweet female Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

The male Ruby-throated Hummingbird with a crazed look in his eye..

My male hummer again, looking a little more normal..

My Goldie Girl actually walked to the lake with us last weekend.. I am amazed how she went 9 months without wanting to step outside except to do her business and come right back in.. I am not sure why all of a sudden she seems more lively? She is close to 11 1/2 years old..  Either way I am glad she feels better.

I hope you enjoyed my birds and critters.. Now its your turn, to share your critters..

Happy weekend and welcome to Saturday's Critters!  I hope you love critters as much as I do. I have been animal lover since I was a child.. Ok, it's time to share your critters. I am sharing some of my yardbirds, some swallows down the street from me and my Goldie Girl.

My Poppa Bluebird taking a worm to his babies..

One of my cute American Goldfinches.. The male is so bright and pretty in the summer.

Another shot of Poppa Blue looking so serious.

Swallows on a wire..I believe these are barn swallows that hang out by the horse farm down the road.

Goldie Girl has slowed down a lot, it is kind of sad to see her this way..But, she is still our beautiful Goldie Girl..
