Around the yard_ Nov 26

I am linking up with   Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and a great weekend.. I am sharing some photos and mosaics from my yard and around our neighborhood.. Since the leaves are off the trees we have a nice view of the lake from the fireroad..

We some snow the day before Thanksgiving. It was enough to look pretty on our pine trees and it brought a lot of birds to my feeders.

It seems the Mourning Doves have some kind of radar, they show up immediately after putting out some fresh bird seed.

One day hubby and I took a walk on the local fireroad, we could see the lake thru the trees..included in the mosaic are a couple of Purple Finches, a Goldfinch, sunset and a shot of the crescent moon.

Not the best shot of these pretty birds on my feeder.. Not sure why, but when I first saw these two birds I could tell by their white brow they were Purple Finches, on the photo they look like House Finches?

The family had a great time on Thanksgiving, the happiest time was with Baby Neill.

I hope you can join in on our fun at  Mosaic Monday and   Our World Tuesday

Thanks to Judith our  host of Mosaic Monday and to the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer.  I wish everyone a happy week ahead!

  8. Love that top mosaic, well themed, and the expressions on the little boy's face. Yes, hard to tell about the finches, isn't it? I usually look for a brown head on the house finch, but the angle of the photo is such it can't be seen. Definitely agree they are purple finches, though, lots of raspberry wash.

  17. Such pretty views in your yard and of the lake! I have a whole family of mourning doves and they cuddle together on the arbour over the bird feeders. My goldfinches have no yellow on them at all now, and actually, I'm surprised they're still around as we don't usually have them through the winter. Wendy x

  18. The snow is beautiful, but growing up in the north I ejoyed it then but can do without now. Yes they do look like House Finches, and so colorful! Glad you had such an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

  21. Having all those trees close to your feeders and deck must help attract birds to photograph. We changed our deck rail from wood to an iron one with glass panels and I miss sprinkling seed out on the railing to bring the birds closer to the window and my camera.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Eileen.

  35. It amazes me every year Eileen when I see your pictures of your garden from your deck - how it changes it clothes from summer to winter and back again. Our season changes are so subtle here.
I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving and time for a breather before the lead up to Christmas. This time of year is so special with grandchildren around isn't it.
