Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday,

On January 27, hubby and I went on a hike at the Hashawha Nature Center. A local park with some nice trails, a Raptor Center and camp in the summer for the kiddies. We had great weather, it was in the low 60's and sunny.

These birds have been injured in some way, they can not survive in the wild. My photos are  of the Red-tailed Hawk, Barred Owl couple and there was a Bald Eagle. I do not like the cages but if you click on the photo, you can at least see the birds better.

We took the loop trail, at this section of the trail below it was mostly uphill. A few hikers (young hikers) passed us on the trail.

A pretty view of the sky and clouds.

The park also has an environmental center and a visitor center.

The trail starts off with the boardwalk near the lake.

We walked pass many fields, this one had corn planted in the summer.

Jan 30th, almost the full moon.

Jan 31st, the Super Blue Moon.

The full moon setting behind the trees.

I am thankful for all I have, I try to remember there are those (around the world) who would be happy to have mine and all of our bad days.
I am thankful to take life day by day.
I am thankful for all your visits and comments.

Thank you Michelle for hosting. Thankful Thursday
Thank you to the hosts of   Skywatch Friday

Thanks so much for visiting and for your nice comments on my previous post. Have a happy day!

It is sad to see birds in cages, but if they cannot survive on their own in the wild, then I am glad we have places that take care of them. And it is educational, especially for children. We visited a Bird Rehab place on Monday. I will have a Great Horned Owl photo for Saturday's Critters this week.
Have a wonderful day!

I guess the cages are a necessity for those birds, but it is sad to see. Lovely photos of your walk!

Nice shots Eileen. It is so nice to have many parks and trails close to home. Nice Moon shots. My G-daughter interned at Sarvy Wildlife Center when in FFA in High School. It is a rehab etc center for rescued animals and raptors. She really liked helping out.

You got some wonderful photos of the moon. I'm going to think about what you said about others being happy to have what I consider a bad day. That's for the reminder. Sweet hugs, Diane

Hello Eileen, Oh my low 60's! Yes that would be just incredible. In fact it's been so cold here that the teens today is just a dream come true! You sure know how to pick the best places and we are so lucky to see the lovely captures you find there!

What a lovely place to walk and explore. I enjoy places like this. We don't have any where I live, but when we travel I always take advantage. Thanks for linking up today!

At least in the cages the birds can survive & recover from injury, hopefully & they are amazing birds!
This is another great hike for you, Eileen & thanks for sharing your lovely photos of the park.

I'm happy the birds have been well taken care of. That last shot is creepy. I would be expecting the headless horseman to galloping by. :)

I think it is great you both enjoy doing these things together. Keep on moving as long as you can. Love the moon, as we got nothing here that I could see.

Hi Eileen, I'm glad there is a raptor rehab center. Often these birds can be re-released into the wilds with great success. Your moon shots are beautiful. I love the last shot the best. Have a wonderful day. Jo

Hi Eileen
I am always thankful when I go on a walk and see no-one around me! I notice this from your photos! That probs makes me sound v antisocial but I live in a crowded part of the world. I would be thankful for the fresh air too - we are in the middle of above safe levels of pollution here in Bangkok. I am thankful to have a day blogging where I can visit my dear blogging friends! Ha I could have written a blog post on this too lol!
Have a lovely weekend

Well done with the moon! I haven't even tried!
It's wonderful they can take in the wounded birds. So sad when they cannot fly free, but...
