Saturday's Critters #264

Welcome to Saturday's Critters !

I  will catch up with my visits and comments ASAP.  I may be away from the computer, so please bear with me. I will visit everyone who links up and all who comment.

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

The Screech Owl went missing for a few weeks, than I heard the birds fussing one day Dec 15th. I went to look out and there he was back in our Rhododendron outside the front window.  The Titmouse, Cardinals, Chickadees and Wrens were all fussing in the same bush.

If you look closely you can find a Cardinal and partial view of a Titmouse along with the Screech Owl.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !

Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

  15. How nice to have a screech-owl in you yard! I have found them only about 4 doors away from our home in the wetlands, but never seen or heard one in our yard. Earlier this week 3/4 hour before sunrise I surveyed the 4 sites which have had them. If I did not hear one I briefly played back their call. At the first site one was calling spontaneously but at the second I heard nothing. Just started the playback on my phone and was looking down when one struck me in the forehead! It was more like a punch. Last year I squeaked and one grabbed my hat and almost carried it off my head. That one left claw impressions on my hat. When I was a kid we had a family of owls in a church steeple-- they attacked churchgoers, especially the ladies with their flowery and feathery hats (oh-oh, my age is showing).

  18. Found the cardinal . . .
Feeding frenzy happens around here daily . . .
Always know “our outdoor critter family” is content
when the cardinals are flitting and settling in the hemlock.
How fortunate we are to be near the woods . . . with many Bird Critter visitors.
