Happy Thankful Thursday!

 Happy Thursday everyone!

I am thankful some of our trails are still open and we are allowed to take a walk, the fresh air and exercise is needed.  It is requested we wear face mask when in a grocery or pharmacy store. I hear places may be opening soon, in the states that do not have as many Covid cases.  I hope everyone is stay healthy and taking the necessary precautions to stay well.

At home I watched the Red-bellied Woodpecker right before leaving for our walk.

Not many people out on the bike trail on this day,  I could count the people I saw on one hand.

My and my shadow out for a walk, some fresh air and exercise.

It was another pretty sky day, but temperatures were only in the 40's and it was a little breezy.

Some scenes from our local bike trail.  I heard a few birds during our walk, a few Chickadees and the Titmouse. I like seeing the flowers along the trail as we walked.

Not sure of the flowers seen off the trail, they looked like a tall purple phlox?

We decided to take a little ride around the lake on the way home, the dam is seen below.  I saw one Double-crested Cormorant flying away from the dam area.

Thankful to say we are doing well and not going too crazy over having to stay at home. I would rather be safe at home than sick with the virus.

I am sharing some of my latest books, reading has been taking up a lot of my stay at home time.

Among the Mad by Jacqueline Winspear,  Maisie Dobbs series #6
Plum Tea Crazy by Laura Childs, Tea Shop Mystery Series # 19
Broken Bone China by Laura Childs, Tea Shop Mystery Series #20

I am always thankful for your visits and the comments.

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Spread joy & happiness!

Thank you Michelle for hosting Thankful Thursday
Thank you to Yogi the host of   Skywatch Friday

  1. While I agree with your sentiment, hearing that our area of the state may not get back to work/school/life until autumn was very disheartening.

  2. Lovely views, the dam is a great shot. Down here, we are still in lockdown, next Tuesday go to a level 3, with one metre distancing, some businesses allowed to resume work, Real Estate can have an Open Home with restrictions. and firms can do online and courier deliveries for non-essential goods. I think spring bulbs, have already found the Tulip bulbs I so like, and a dream only right now, an espresso coffee machine.,

What beautiful photos of your walk and a car ride.
Great that this Red-bellied Woodpecker comes in your garden.

  4. Hello Eileen,

Your daily walk gives me lot og beautiful photos! The flowers on left of the photo are Narcissus, and the blue one looks like a Corydalis. I'm not sure of the puple one, but I don't think it's a phlox. I think it's to early for the high phlox right now.
    Beautiful sky and river.
    Enjoy your day!

  9. Hi Eileen. That's a great picture of the woodpecker. It's good to see you're hitting the trails and that you have them more or less to yourself. There are a few good things about this crisis - namely that there is so much less disturbance to wild places and the birds and animals are left in peace from us humans. I'm afraid I can't help with those flowers. Stay well.

I know I have read Laura Childs' books - I just don't remember which ones.
I stopped briefly at a friend's house today. She was on her porch, and I stood in the yard (both of us wearing masks). She set a bag of books on the edge of the porch for me to pick up to read, so I have some new authors to explore. I am leaving them in the trunk of the car for a few days to let any germs die before I take them into my house.
Glad you two are well, and enjoying the great outdoors!
