Happy Thankful Thursday!

 Happy Thursday everyone!

I am thankful some of our trails are still open and we are allowed to take a walk, the fresh air and exercise is needed.  It is requested we wear face mask when in a grocery or pharmacy store. I hear places may be opening soon, in the states that do not have as many Covid cases.  I hope everyone is stay healthy and taking the necessary precautions to stay well.

At home I watched the Red-bellied Woodpecker right before leaving for our walk.

Not many people out on the bike trail on this day,  I could count the people I saw on one hand.

My and my shadow out for a walk, some fresh air and exercise.

It was another pretty sky day, but temperatures were only in the 40's and it was a little breezy.

Some scenes from our local bike trail.  I heard a few birds during our walk, a few Chickadees and the Titmouse. I like seeing the flowers along the trail as we walked.

Not sure of the flowers seen off the trail, they looked like a tall purple phlox?

We decided to take a little ride around the lake on the way home, the dam is seen below.  I saw one Double-crested Cormorant flying away from the dam area.

Thankful to say we are doing well and not going too crazy over having to stay at home. I would rather be safe at home than sick with the virus.

I am sharing some of my latest books, reading has been taking up a lot of my stay at home time.

Among the Mad by Jacqueline Winspear,  Maisie Dobbs series #6
Plum Tea Crazy by Laura Childs, Tea Shop Mystery Series # 19
Broken Bone China by Laura Childs, Tea Shop Mystery Series #20

I am always thankful for your visits and the comments.

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Spread joy & happiness!

Thank you Michelle for hosting Thankful Thursday
Thank you to Yogi the host of   Skywatch Friday

Thanks so much for visiting and for your nice comments on my previous post. Have a happy day!

Lovely views, the dam is a great shot. Down here, we are still in lockdown, next Tuesday go to a level 3, with one metre distancing, some businesses allowed to resume work, Real Estate can have an Open Home with restrictions. and firms can do online and courier deliveries for non-essential goods. I think spring bulbs, have already found the Tulip bulbs I so like, and a dream only right now, an espresso coffee machine.,

Hello Eileen,
What beautiful photos of your walk and a car ride.
Great that this Red-bellied Woodpecker comes in your garden.
All photos are perfectly sharp, the light is also great.
Best regards Irma

Hello Eileen,

Your daily walk gives me lot og beautiful photos! The flowers on left of the photo are Narcissus, and the blue one looks like a Corydalis. I'm not sure of the puple one, but I don't think it's a phlox. I think it's to early for the high phlox right now.
Beautiful sky and river.
Enjoy your day!

Good morning, Eileen!
What a treat! The little woodpecker is very beautiful!
Haven't the trees turned green yet? Here, they have a gorgeous raw green color.
Have a nice day, stay safely and stay healthy!
Hugs!

Hello,
Thanks for sharing these lovely springtime views...
Lucky you who can enjoy quite long walks, but better stay safe at home than fall ill, as you said.
Happy Thursday!

Hi Eileen. That's a great picture of the woodpecker. It's good to see you're hitting the trails and that you have them more or less to yourself. There are a few good things about this crisis - namely that there is so much less disturbance to wild places and the birds and animals are left in peace from us humans. I'm afraid I can't help with those flowers. Stay well.

To open up so soon is sheer madness, and I am sure that those states that do will pay a heavy price. They will also export their foolhardiness to other jurisdictions, unfortunately.

Marie Smith said...

I so envy your ability to walk on a beautiful trail like that. I miss our trails and heritage roads.

I think we are all afraid to get out too soon and run the risk of getting the virus! It sure helps to have a place to get out and walk! Keeps me from getting cabin fever! lol Love the mosaic with pretty flowers, your shadow and the clouds in the sky! Oh how I love nature! Take care! Maybe I should start the Laura Childs series. I have read the beginning of SO many books that I don't like lately! Hugs!

Thank you for sharing your walk Eileen and for all the beautiful views, and that Woodpecker capture is fabulous! It’s been a bit chilly here the last couple of days but I plan on getting outside for some walks in the local preserves real soon! Enjoy!

gotta look for Maisie dobbs series... I am currently in the teashop series by Laura Childs and love them. what pretty nature shots, and aren't you lucky on your walks not to deal with people rushing past and not wearing masks? Yes you are! Miss the east coast...

I love those big woodpeckers. We have one that comes to our peanut feeder several times a day. Good you could get out for a walk - much too windy for me this week (though today the winds have calmed down...but rain is coming in).

I am thankful we are able to get out and walk too. Yesterday we walked on a trail by the Susquehanna River. We skipped stones in the water and saw lots of spring wildflowers, just like the ones you took the beautiful photos of!

Nice to be on the trails with few other people. You have an opportunity to see more critters if they are not disturbed.

i know how bad you miss your hikes, so happy for you that you got out on a trail once again... that sky with those trees is awesome and that creek makes me want to climb down there and dip my feet. bet the water is cold though

I enjoyed the photos from your walk! Pretty flowers, and I always like to see lakes and dams.
Great photo of the Woodpecker, too!
I know I have read Laura Childs' books - I just don't remember which ones.
I stopped briefly at a friend's house today. She was on her porch, and I stood in the yard (both of us wearing masks). She set a bag of books on the edge of the porch for me to pick up to read, so I have some new authors to explore. I am leaving them in the trunk of the car for a few days to let any germs die before I take them into my house.
Glad you two are well, and enjoying the great outdoors!
