Happy Thankful Thursday

Hello,

I am thankful, hubby and I are healthy. I hope all my blog readers are safe and healthy too. Time is flying by even with the stay at home order. How is everyone passing the time, keeping calm and safe?  We only go out to take a walk or the necessary food shop. Of course, I am always watching my back yard birds, looking for the spring summer and migrant birds to arrive.

Thankful for the simple pleasures!

Photos taken from my dining room window,  I am pretty sure this is a female Purple Finch, a few id tips are the white line above the eye looks like an eyebrow, the streaking on the chest and a line at the throat.

A pretty sky day, photo taken from our deck.  Love the puffy white clouds.

4/2/20  I am thankful that the local government did not close down our local bike trail, it is one of the places we can go for a longer walk, more steps and more exercise.  We need to keep moving the joints, circulate the blood and burn the calories. Keeping moving peeps. We only passed a few people riding their bikes, jogging and walking their dogs.

A pretty sky day during our walk on the bike trail, it was chilly and windy on this day.

These are some of the spring flowers blooming near the NCR parking lot. I love the Narcissus or Daffodils.

Thankful for the pretty blue sky days!

An update on the neighborhood Great Blue Herons, they seem to be doing ok. Maybe not as many as last year, we had some really cold weather and wind storms after they first arrived. I am not seeing as many nest as before, maybe their nest are more hidden from sight.

I am thankful to find new recipes on the internet, I did not take a photo but it was my first time trying a Cinnamon Raisin Scone recipe. I am also thankful to Red @ Hiawatha House
after seeing his post for Rice Pudding I just had to have some. They were both tasty but, I need more practice baking.

I am thankful for all the books I have been reading. My latest books were:
Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz it is #1 in the Susan Ryeland series.
The Jasmine Moon Murder by Laura Childs # 5 in the Tea Shop Mystery series.

I am always thankful for your visits and the comments.

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Spread joy & happiness!

  6. The funny thing about staying at home, is that we seem to be busier than ever. For one thing my wife has been very busy making masks and donating them, and often we deliver them to doorsteps too. I have a few projects planned that I still haven't got to. But I do get out and bird every day!

  34. Good you have that bike trail for exercise and it's near by...I don't see the same numbers of anything anymore...it's a world wide decline of birds is what I understand, mostly it's chemical and environmental disturbances. All my close by county and state parks closed, so I am back to road side birding and yard birding and that is when I do my walking..the WLR is 30 mins away so I will go there as many times a week as I have the gas to go with.
