Hello,
I am thankful, hubby and I are healthy. I hope all my blog readers are safe and healthy too. Time is flying by even with the stay at home order. How is everyone passing the time, keeping calm and safe? We only go out to take a walk or the necessary food shop. Of course, I am always watching my back yard birds, looking for the spring summer and migrant birds to arrive.
Thankful for the simple pleasures!
Photos taken from my dining room window, I am pretty sure this is a female Purple Finch, a few id tips are the white line above the eye looks like an eyebrow, the streaking on the chest and a line at the throat.
A pretty sky day, photo taken from our deck. Love the puffy white clouds.
4/2/20 I am thankful that the local government did not close down our local bike trail, it is one of the places we can go for a longer walk, more steps and more exercise. We need to keep moving the joints, circulate the blood and burn the calories. Keeping moving peeps. We only passed a few people riding their bikes, jogging and walking their dogs.
A pretty sky day during our walk on the bike trail, it was chilly and windy on this day.
These are some of the spring flowers blooming near the NCR parking lot. I love the Narcissus or Daffodils.
Thankful for the pretty blue sky days!
An update on the neighborhood Great Blue Herons, they seem to be doing ok. Maybe not as many as last year, we had some really cold weather and wind storms after they first arrived. I am not seeing as many nest as before, maybe their nest are more hidden from sight.
I am thankful to find new recipes on the internet, I did not take a photo but it was my first time trying a Cinnamon Raisin Scone recipe. I am also thankful to Red @ Hiawatha House
after seeing his post for Rice Pudding I just had to have some. They were both tasty but, I need more practice baking.
I am thankful for all the books I have been reading. My latest books were:
Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz it is #1 in the Susan Ryeland series.
The Jasmine Moon Murder by Laura Childs # 5 in the Tea Shop Mystery series.
I am always thankful for your visits and the comments.
Live simple and be happy! 😊 Spread joy & happiness!

DeleteThe funny thing about staying at home, is that we seem to be busier than ever. For one thing my wife has been very busy making masks and donating them, and often we deliver them to doorsteps too. I have a few projects planned that I still haven't got to. But I do get out and bird every day!
ReplyDeleteHello David, it is wonderful that your wife is making and donating the masks. It seems easy to keep busy, always something to do. The birdwatching can be distracting. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy your day, Stay safe and healthy.

DeleteThe days are pretty much the same as before for us, minus going to eat for breakfast. An I am enjoying the break from that. But is a little disconcerting for me to go shopping for food. Yet, I go and I go earlier than I normally would and there are few people there. We live in a small town so I think it is better that way.
ReplyDeleteHello Rose
DeleteI guess we are all saving more not eating out and using less gasoline in our car. Hello, thanks for the visit and comment. Take care, have a happy day!
I'm so glad you can get outside and walk. I walked in my neighborhood yesterday but hopefully tomorrow we can go back on a trail that is still open. It does feel good to get exercise! And it's fun to watch our yard birds. What a joy they are when you're stuck inside...like I am today! Take care and stay healthy! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHello Diane,
DeleteIt is good they have some trails open, I like walking and watching the birds. Thanks for the visit and comment. Take care, have a happy day!
Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of these birds in the foreground and the place around your house is wonderful as a landscape and for walking.
It must be very nice to live there.
Beautiful photos of the river and the blue sky!
It has been raining a lot here and as it is an urban environment it is not possible for long walks. Yesterday I did a little, but I do some exercise with my husband at home.
Stay safe.
Hugs,
Ailime
Hello Ailime, thanks for the visit and comment. Take care, have a happy day!

Wonderful heron picture - thank you Eileen for sharing where you are walking and from your deck photos. Our weather should be sunny for a week and I have been working on spring yard cleanup this week. Seriously keeping the distance, staying home except for groceries.
ReplyDeleteHugs.

ReplyDeleteHello Denise, thanks for the visit and comment.
DeleteTake care , have a great day! Happy Easter weekend!
Good you have that bike trail for exercise and it's near by...I don't see the same numbers of anything anymore...it's a world wide decline of birds is what I understand, mostly it's chemical and environmental disturbances. All my close by county and state parks closed, so I am back to road side birding and yard birding and that is when I do my walking..the WLR is 30 mins away so I will go there as many times a week as I have the gas to go with.
ReplyDeleteHello Sondra, our state has some parks closed and some open. Luckily the bike trail was open for us to walk. Thanks for the visit and comment. Take care , have a great day! Happy Easter weekend!
DeleteHi Eileen! So much to be grateful for! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteYes we do, thank you! Enjoy your day, have a happy Easter weekend!
DeleteI wish I had your views from my house - love the birds at the feeder and the gorgeous blue skies
ReplyDeleteHello Carol, thanks for the comment! Enjoy your day, have a happy Easter weekend!
DeleteGlad you have a longer trail you can get out on to walk. here have been some gorgeous days, haven't there? But wow! This afternoon the storms moved in - high winds, thunder, rain. We lost power for a bit...not too long. As always, love your pictures - thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHello Vera, I heard the high winds later last night. Sounds like a train coming, the trees had to be swaying. Take care! Enjoy your day, have a happy Easter weekend!
DeleteHope we can all stay healthy. My mom used to say that if you have good health you have everything and that seems to be true.
ReplyDeleteHello, great quote by your Mom, so true too. Thanks for the visit and comment. Take care , have a great day! Happy Easter weekend!
DeleteI'm envious of your beautiful bike trail! Such a beautiful place for a nice long walk. All of our local and regional parks are closed, so I'm left with walking on the sidewalks around the neighborhood. Better than nothing, but not terribly inspiring. Stay healthy!
ReplyDeleteHello, it is a nice trail. Thanks for the visit and comment. Take care, have a great day! Happy Easter weekend!
DeleteLovely photos. Glad you are able to get some good walks in.

ReplyDeleteHi Jeanie, I do get easily distracted by the birds. Thanks for the visit and comment. Take care, have a great day! Happy Easter weekend!
DeleteI love the very last photo of this post of the heron in the tree - I think it would look cool blown up and framed. We do have lots to be thankful for in these strange times. It's important to focus on that instead of being negative. Wishing you good health - stay well.
ReplyDeleteSusie, thanks for the visit and comment. Take care, have a great day! Happy Easter weekend!
DeleteGreat that you are keeping well - things always seem better with the sun shining and the daffs out don't they. You are so lucky to have access to your bike trail and to be able to hear the little birds sing! Thanks as always for your lovely visits to my posts.
ReplyDeleteTake care Wren x

DeleteIt's good to see you're getting out and about Eileen. As you say, keeping fit and watching the calories is a must. But now we can't win with warnings of "crashing the economy" if we don't get out to the shops. Stay safe.

DeleteI love rice pudding (warm or chilled). Yes, you certainly had a week of beautiful skies! Here it's overcast (again). It's great to have some trails open for exercise. Our city did close ALL parks for Easter...to keep big crowds out.
ReplyDeleteHello Anni, I love warm rice pudding, it is the best. Thanks for the comment. Happy Easter to you and yours!

Hi There, Hope you all had a Happy Easter.... Even though it was different and we missed being with family and friends, we made the best of our day and it turned out good. We watched some services on TV in the morning --and I listened to some awesome music (on You Tube) all afternoon.... Other than all of the storms around us yesterday, it was a very nice Easter...
ReplyDeleteStay Healthy and Safe.
Hugs,
Betsy
