July 1, seeing the male and female Eastern Bluebirds in my yard for a few days. Maybe they are starting their 2nd nest for the season.
These photos are all photos of the male Eastern Bluebird, he is a pretty blue color. The female does not have as much of the blue color.
These are different photos, the Bluebird sat still and posed for me.
I may have mentioned it before, the beautiful Eastern Bluebird is my spark bird. It is the bird that sparked my interest in birding..
The pair of Bluebird like to sit on the end of our gutter, which is right above one of our bluebird houses. This might be their 2nd time nesting this season.

Just a quick visit today, Eileen. My daughter is visiting from Ottawa and we have places to go and things to do! We were able to show her bluebirds yesterday.

a "spark" bird...interesting, i am not sure if i have one!! the bluebirds and your images of them are really beautiful. i have never seen a bluebird in my yard, only on the alpaca farm i visit!! have a great weekend and many thanks for hosting!!
Bluebirds are the prettiest birds! We have a couple of babies coming to our feeders this week. Love the bright colors of your pretty bird. Enjoy your weekend!
As I stared at your beautiful bluebird and scroll down and look carefully at each picture and thought the fact that I have never seen one in real life and then I scrolled and there was that adorable female. She made me laugh out loud because she looks like she's pregnant and absolutely adorable
Nice portraits! It is so true that birds sometimes will stand perfectly still. I know that this protects them from detection by predators if they "freeze," but at other times maybe it is just a way of saving energy.

Happy Saturday Eileen. Bluebirds are so family oriented they are the module parent...so glad your pair had a successful nesting season same here I saw one of the fledglings with his specked breast in the yard yesterday and I know the parents are still bringing food to the nesting place so I figure second brood of the year. We are so fortunate to have these masters of bug catching in our lives!
You got some great pics of the beautiful bluebird.
Sadly our blue bird population has crashed. we see very few of these beautiful birds.
I would dearly love to see a bluebird!
