Happy Thankful Thursday!

Hello,

Happy July everyone!!   🌝

Can you believe it's July already?  Today is my sister's birthday, Happy Birthday Sis!

I have a mish mash of photos to share!   One day we ordered carry-out from the local family style restaurant. We are trying to support our local businesses. One of the photos is from the restaurant, their pond and grounds.  I also have a pretty Scarlet Tanager seen during a walk and I sharing some back yard  flowers.

Leaving the Friendly Farms restaurant, it was a pretty sky day..

While walking on the local fire road , the male Scarlet Tanager landed almost right next to me at eye level.  I think the female and a youngster were near by too.

Do you ever feel the need for a mental health day?  Relieve stress and take some "me" time.

Spirea each year it blooms even more, if that is possible.

"Put your heart, mind and soul into even your smallest acts, this is the secret of success".

I am thankful for the flowers, they make our yard so colorful and pretty.

The Upright Fuchsia is growing well, hubby's green thumb kept this plant alive from last year.  It is an annual in our zone.

Another Fuchsia  that hubby's green thumb saved from last summer.  It has lots of blooms and the hummingbirds love it.

The Bee Balm is doing very well, we have to keep this area of the garden behind wire or the groundhogs would just eat all our flowers.

Some waterlilies in our small pond and more of the Stella D'oro lilies.

I am thankful for each and every day, we never know when the time is up!! Chuck Berry

Blooms below in our yard and in our pond the waterlilies are blooming nicely, Stella D'oro lilies, Red Salvia, Upright Fuchsia, Bee Balm and my favorite Lantana. The bees, birds and butterflies love all these blooms.

Life is like a flower, Comes like a bud, Goes like a shower, Petals are shattered, All that's left is our friends indeed. So is a man with a short life span, So cherish each day. Words by Kael

I am only updating this info for my future reference, a Maryland Covid update: as of Jun 28th, 2020 Maryland has in total  66,777 positive cases and 3,042 people have died. Fewer people are being hospitalized, it was down by 32. It is best if you want to stay safe and healthy, wear the mask in public areas and keep the 6ft distance..

I hope everyone is safe, happy and healthy! I am always thankful hubby and I are both well!

Live simple and be happy!  😊 Take care, keep smiling!

  3. The Scarlet Tanager was a wonderful bonus for having supported a local restaurant. i hope that the food was equally exciting. We have only ordered food once and what we got was pretty darn mediocre. It was not worth what we paid for it, nor the effort to drive to get it.

    1. Hello, David,
I guess I was not clear on the post, the Tanager was seen during a walk on the trail. We enjoy this local restuarant's food and have been there often to eat inside and for carryout! Thank you for the comment and visit. Enjoy your day!

  19. So good you got the Tanager on your walk...I have done one drive thru since this whole thing started I left home with no picnic lunch which I normally pack myself so I got a cold drink and some french fries. But to be honest I was not eating out except rarely before the Virus...It seems to be spreading and increasing. I don't see how Schools will open in a month...if they do that I think the virus will spread even faster. Yes indeed stay healthy and live simple.

Lantana, the word gives me the memory of the plant my Mum had, near a hedge, when I was a child. The perfume when you rubbed the leaves, wonderful. That golden day lily, I had so many of different colours at our other home, and have a bright yellow and a deep burgundy one here, Hardy, the yellow one is flowering now in our winter.

Since businesses have been allowed to re-open, some cities here in Mississippi have passed ordinances that require people to wear masks in any indoor public places. We have been wearing masks everywhere for months now, and it is good to see more people taking precautions.

the scarlet tanager is gorgeous as well but your image of it is stunning. that really deserves a frame and a place on your wall!!

your quotes are encouraging. our numbers are not so good. people are not obeying the rules while outside of their homes and i am afraid that we are looking at moving backward. outdoor dining is open and people are shoulder to shoulder in the bar areas, and not wearing masks. new jersey has about 174,000 cases and 15,000 deaths. no joke!!

with all that said...enjoy your weekend!! hehehehe
