Hello,
Happy July everyone!! 🌝
Can you believe it's July already? Today is my sister's birthday, Happy Birthday Sis!
I have a mish mash of photos to share! One day we ordered carry-out from the local family style restaurant. We are trying to support our local businesses. One of the photos is from the restaurant, their pond and grounds. I also have a pretty Scarlet Tanager seen during a walk and I sharing some back yard flowers.
Leaving the Friendly Farms restaurant, it was a pretty sky day..
While walking on the local fire road , the male Scarlet Tanager landed almost right next to me at eye level. I think the female and a youngster were near by too.

I am thankful for the flowers, they make our yard so colorful and pretty.
The Upright Fuchsia is growing well, hubby's green thumb kept this plant alive from last year. It is an annual in our zone.
Another Fuchsia that hubby's green thumb saved from last summer. It has lots of blooms and the hummingbirds love it.
The Bee Balm is doing very well, we have to keep this area of the garden behind wire or the groundhogs would just eat all our flowers.
Some waterlilies in our small pond and more of the Stella D'oro lilies.
I am thankful for each and every day, we never know when the time is up!! Chuck Berry
Blooms below in our yard and in our pond the waterlilies are blooming nicely, Stella D'oro lilies, Red Salvia, Upright Fuchsia, Bee Balm and my favorite Lantana. The bees, birds and butterflies love all these blooms.

I am only updating this info for my future reference, a Maryland Covid update: as of Jun 28th, 2020 Maryland has in total 66,777 positive cases and 3,042 people have died. Fewer people are being hospitalized, it was down by 32. It is best if you want to stay safe and healthy, wear the mask in public areas and keep the 6ft distance..
I hope everyone is safe, happy and healthy! I am always thankful hubby and I are both well!
Live simple and be happy! 😊 Take care, keep smiling!

Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post.
Wonderful that fantastic bird on your first shot. His colors are tropical and amazing.
And so nice to see all these wonderful flowers.
Greetings, Marco

DeleteTo have an annual plant reblooming is a great feat. Kudos to your hubby! I loved the manager today.
ReplyDeleteHi Anni,
DeleteI am thankful for my hubby's green thumb.. Thanks and enjoy your day!
The Scarlet Tanager was a wonderful bonus for having supported a local restaurant. i hope that the food was equally exciting. We have only ordered food once and what we got was pretty darn mediocre. It was not worth what we paid for it, nor the effort to drive to get it.
ReplyDeleteHello, David,
DeleteI guess I was not clear on the post, the Tanager was seen during a walk on the trail. We enjoy this local restuarant's food and have been there often to eat inside and for carryout! Thank you for the comment and visit. Enjoy your day!
Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteBeauyiful photos of flowers in your garden! The fuchsia from last summer blooms here too. I think they are very similar. Many fuchsia having problems to live through the wintertime indoors, but this sort luves very well. I will show you a photo of it one day :)
Beautiful waterlilies and daylilies. Yes, I can't belive that's July already...
Enjoy your day!

DeleteSo good you got the Tanager on your walk...I have done one drive thru since this whole thing started I left home with no picnic lunch which I normally pack myself so I got a cold drink and some french fries. But to be honest I was not eating out except rarely before the Virus...It seems to be spreading and increasing. I don't see how Schools will open in a month...if they do that I think the virus will spread even faster. Yes indeed stay healthy and live simple.
ReplyDeleteHello Sondra,
DeleteWe do not eat out often but sometimes it is nice not to have to cook dinner. The virus spreading now is scary and our leader can not wish it away. Take care and stay safe!
Lantana, the word gives me the memory of the plant my Mum had, near a hedge, when I was a child. The perfume when you rubbed the leaves, wonderful. That golden day lily, I had so many of different colours at our other home, and have a bright yellow and a deep burgundy one here, Hardy, the yellow one is flowering now in our winter.
ReplyDeleteHello Jean,
DeleteI will have to rub some of the leaves and see if our has a scent. I have never noticed a scent. Thanks for the comment. I hope yo are well, take care! Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for a really lovely post Eileen. I thought the Scarlet Tanager photo was perfect, what a beautiful bird. The spirea brought back memories of my childhood as my mother had it in her garden - I haven't seen a bush of it for years.
ReplyDeleteHello, M
DeleteThe Spirea is pretty, I love any colorful plant.
Thank you for the visit and comment.

ReplyDeleteThank you Rose, The Tanager is a beauty! Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy 4th of July weekend!
DeleteYou caught a picturesque sky outside the restaurant and lovely bunches of flowers that kept treating you all the day at the backyard. I wish and hope you guys always stay away from the covid. Our state (Tamil Nadu) in India is alone nearly 100,000 cases of covid and my city alone counts above 2000 daily. And it's kinda terrific out here
ReplyDeleteTake care
Hello Jeevan,
DeleteThat is scary, how many cases you have there. Take care, stay safe!
Thank you for the visit and comment. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend!
Beautiful flowers and thoughtful quotes. Love the close up of the tanager. Take care and stay safe; enjoy your weekend.

ReplyDeleteHello Caroline,
DeleteThank you for the comment. We are in the USA not Canada, not sure if you knew where I live? Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend!
Lovely flowers and my spirea is blooming magnificently this year, too! Oh, and the crepe myrtle is looking really good! It is such a beautiful summer here, if it weren't so humid! Happy 4th of July!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit and comment.
DeleteEnjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend!
Wow! very colorful flowers
ReplyDeleteThank you Thomas!Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteBeautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to your sister!
Since businesses have been allowed to re-open, some cities here in Mississippi have passed ordinances that require people to wear masks in any indoor public places. We have been wearing masks everywhere for months now, and it is good to see more people taking precautions.
Have a good weekend!
Hello, Lea
DeleteI am glad the businesses are re-opening there, wearing the mask does help. Thank you for the visit and comment. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy 4th of July weekend!
your yard area, deck area are gorgeous...so many colorful flowers!!
ReplyDeletethe scarlet tanager is gorgeous as well but your image of it is stunning. that really deserves a frame and a place on your wall!!
your quotes are encouraging. our numbers are not so good. people are not obeying the rules while outside of their homes and i am afraid that we are looking at moving backward. outdoor dining is open and people are shoulder to shoulder in the bar areas, and not wearing masks. new jersey has about 174,000 cases and 15,000 deaths. no joke!!
with all that said...enjoy your weekend!! hehehehe
Thanks Debbie!
DeleteIt is scary, the positive virus numbers should be going down not up.
I am hoping for things to be back to normal, whatever our new normal may be.
Happy 4th of July to you.
Es tut immer wieder gut,zu sehen: auf der ganzen Welt gibt es nur einen Himmel! Deine Blumenwelt ist herrlich.
ReplyDeleteLiebe Grüße ins Wochenende

DeleteLove your mish mash. No I can’t believe its July already, and happy birthday to your sister : ) I agree, it is important to support our local businesses. We are trying to do our part while staying safe. Beautiful skies and great shot of the Scarlet Tanager and its pretty feather coloring! The spirea is also a very pretty color, love that shade of pink. Applauding your husband’s green thumb on the upright Fuchsia. You have a wonderful garden with all those beautiful flowers, such a great habitat for bees and butterflies and birds. Enjoyed the quotes also. Thank you for the update on COVID-19. We also have been keeping a close eye on the statistics. Knowledge is power so they say.
