I am linking up with NF Winged and Skywatch Friday
This week is actually going slow for me, maybe because we have a long weekend coming up. Monday is the Columbus day holiday. Yes! A long weekend, I hope the weather will cooperate. This post is about watching the sunset and sharing some neighborhood birds. I am looking forward to seeing your skies from around the world, I hope you are all joining the Skywatch.
A neighboring field, I am not sure what is growing here but the green leaves were turning beautiful colors.
A nearby local pond always attracts the Canada Geese and sometimes GB heron.
On a day I was riding by there was one lone domestic goose.
The birds gathering at the local pond, mostly Canada Geese and one Great Blue Heron.
I am sharing hubby's sunset shots over our lake.. Looks pretty.
Hubby got some pretty reflection shots too.
This cardinal has a sad look, maybe a young one that has been scolded by the adults. Thanks for visiting my post and blog and I always appreciate your comments.
Happy Skywatching everyone!
To see more pretty skies from around the world please visit Skywatch Friday
and to see more of the winged critters check out NF Winged
Thanks to Sylvia, Yogi and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday! Thanks to Monica the host of NF Winged. I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend.

loving your hubby's sunset photo over the lake Eileen, and then the cardinal. I've noticed too that sometimes a bird does look 'not happy'. You'd wonder quite how that happens. There's no frown lines or anything!
ReplyDeleteSuch scenic landcapes Eileen. I love the fall colors! Beautiful pictures as always :)
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wonder what that goose is doing there---an escapee perhaps? Well, he at least found a really nice spot!

I've got my fingers crossed Eileen. Firstly that the weather is kind for you on the long weekend, and secondly for that poor sad looking Cardinal. I think birds do have expressions don't you? Hubby's taken some excellent pictures there - give him a pat on the back.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. I love the scenery, sky, reflections and birds.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, That domestic goose likely was one that somebody just let go near the pond (perhaps it was a pet from Easter that grew up?). Sometimes they do fly off from farms as well. Pretty bird and in good shape. Your pictures are wonderful! Have an outstanding weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place. The sunset shots are lovely. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeletea nice little pond for the birds.
ReplyDeleteThis year is very strange. Our nearby lake that usually is filled with ducks this time of year is empty. The swans and a few geese is on the other side of the lake which they don´t usually are. :(
A nice and calm sunset, have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe cardinal has a little bit of a pout, eh? Love sunsets and water! Enjoy your weekend!
