Saturday's Critters #95

Saturday's Critters #95

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

After being away from my computer for a week or so, I will catch up with everyone's post as soon as possible. I am sharing some birds and critters seen on our walk to the local Hashawha Nature Center in Carroll County Maryland.

I believe this is a juvenile male Scarlet Tanager, I see dark wings which is a tell-tale sign.  But, I am always open to corrections.

A couple of juvenile Eastern Towhees.

Another juvenile Eastern Towhee.

A Green Heron walking the highwire across the lake.

One of the many slider turtles we saw at the lake.

A Red-spotted Purple Butterfly. I hope you enjoyed my birds and critters from the Hashawha Nature Center. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and thanks for the nice comments. I also appreciate everyone joining in with my critter party. Have a happy weekend!

  41. Hi. A great selection again Eileen. I do rather like the turtle today, probably because here in the UK I never see any. And the butterfly is just superb. You see Eileen I do appreciate all wildlife, I'm not a bird groupie only.

    Have a lovely time.

  44. Nice variety of creatures! Especially like the baby birds. The first time I saw a fledgling towhee here in Florida I was perplexed because it was quite heavily streaked. Others I have seen up north have looked much more like yours, with softer streaking. I wonder if this was just individual variation or maybe the Florida (yellow-eyed) race is different. My field guides don't help much with this.

  45. Hi Eileen. I am back on blogging circuit following two weeks without my desktop. I really missed everyone and also sharing my own. The first bird...I am anxious to know for sure what it is. I had a migrating bird come through the yard the other day that looks a bunch like it. Great post. Take care~
