From now on to save time I am doing one post for all. I have a list below of memes I am joining for this week. They are all fun memes to participate in...I hope you can join in with the fun and check out some of the participating posts. Special thanks to all the wonderful host and their memes, I hope you have some time to check them out.
On the first morning of our Washington trip I stepped out of our hotel room and looked up to a clear sky and a pretty view of the moon. My previous post on the Dungeness Spit was on the afternoon of this same day. With this post, I am going backwards on this day. After hearing so much about dreary weather conditions in this area I was ecstatic to have a first full day of clear skies and pretty weather. On this morning we drove back to the Hurricane Ridge area of the Olympic Nat'l Park and one of hubby's favorite places in park. His favorite spot as of this day!
A lovely shot of the moon on the first morning of our trip. It was awesome to see the clear skies.
A view of the visitor center and the glacier or snow topped mountains in the distance.
Above some of the scenes from the Hurricane Ridge in Olympic Nat'l Park.
I think I see some tracks in the snow/glacier at the top of the mountains. The tracks could be from humans or the mountain goats?
For NF Trees I am sharing the birds were decorating the pines and fir trees at the ridge. Above top row, a Raven or is it the Crow, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, American Robins. Bottom Row is the Golden Crowned Kinglet, and the Golden-Crowned Sparrows.
The Golden-crowned Sparrow was seen outside the visitor center at Hurricane Ridge.
We saw 5 or maybe 6 Blue Grouse, they may also be known as the Sooty Grouse crossing the road on the way to the Hurricane Ridge.
I had to stop the car to let the Grouse finish crossing the road. There were 3 in the middle of the road and two or three already in the grasses on the side of the road. A cool sighting, but it was not my first time seeing these birds. Since we were the only people and car around we enjoyed the sighting and let the birds calmly walk across the road. They did not seem to be in a hurry.
Hubby and I hiked on the trail to Sunrise Point.
Another shadow shot of hubby and I. Hubby is waving hello to you all.
The views were fabulous! I hope you enjoyed our visit to Hurricane Ridge and the park. I will have more photos and post to share on other parts of the Olympic National Park. Always I appreciate you visits and nice comments. Thank you! Have a happy day and new week ahead!
And special thanks to Donna for sending me the Obedient Plants and for sweet hubby doing the planting.
Thanks for visiting my post and as always I appreciate your comments.

Good decision putting all in one... I gave up on memes as just don't have the time! Surely do love visiting yours though, and your entries in others. What a wonderful trip... the road must be generally quiet if the grouse feel then can cross at any time!!! YAM xx
Wonderful photos and mosaics, Eileen! Many different topics and all so interesting and beautiful. The moon shot is beautiful, but the photo of the snow/glacier is my favourite! :)
Have a lovely new week!
Beautiful and captivating series, Eileen! I love your talent!
What a lovely place...I can't wait till I get to see it in person- it's on my list.

Hi Eileen! Your moon picture is fantastic! I love your nature pictures too. It Would be awesome to see those mountains in real. Wow! Happy mosaic monday!
All so crisp and clear! I really like the highway/duck collage. Happy Day.
Ah Eileen, smart to condense and combine. I am always amazed at the moon shots you capture and wonder if any of those footprints in the snow on the mountain could be Bigfoot? :-)
What a beautiful place for a hike! I've never seen the Blue/Sooty Grouse before! The moon photo is spectacular too!
Great pictures. Your moon shots are always impressive and love the birds, especially the Blue Grouse as I have never heard of that one before. Spectacular scenery. Thanks Eileen and have a great day.
Eileen, awesome photos of the mountains, and I do like the shadow picture!

What a wonderful place to visit! I love the snowy mountains. And your critters are so interesting.
What a neat place. I'm excited to get there and explore. I guess this time of year can be misty and foggy, that could be awesome too.
A beautiful place to visit!... And amazing photos as usual!

Hi Eileen, so happy to see these beautiful photos from my neck of the woods! So glad you had nice weather - Olympic park is notorious for its rain! Loved seeing all the different birds and the grouse. I'm going to the coast just south of there this weekend. Wish I could visit your beautiful neck of the woods...it's on my bucket list.
i love the ridge with all the snow, gorgeous. and hurrican ridge sound romantic, like in a novel. or a movie. really like that last shadow shot
The views in the park are exceptionally beautiful.

All great photos but the views of the mountains around Hurricane Ridge are especially beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
really beautiful area. love the moon shot, always. cute grouse strolling by.
Oh my goodness, I saw you were from Maryland and then was surprised to see your post on the Olympic National Park. We were at the rain forest and the coast last weekend! You'll have to hop to my blog, and go back one for the photos of it. Your photos have motivated me to journey in a different direction and go see the sites I have not seen that you highlighted.
Have a blessed week, thanks for stopping by!

I almost hit a grouse the other day. The moon looks like a stone smoothed by the sea.
Very nice !
That's a beautiful shot of the mountain top and I'm enjoying your moon pic too.
Great shots of a beautiful area of our country. Love the views of the mountains. The moon shot is amazing. As always, I appreciate your sharing your travels with us.
Enjoy your evening.

Happy Week to you,
artmusedog and carol
Wow what a great place to visit. Love your photos as usual.
What a great trip that was.
Worth a Thousand Words
Marvelous pics, Eileen! I understand - that's what I try to do with one post for the whole week for the whole memes. Otherwise I never would get back to my painting, or travel! Gain a few (minutes), lose a few clicks from people unfortunately.
Also, this week I decided only to log on to the memes/challenges where the host, or people reply. It was a hard decision, but there needs to be some reciprocity in blogging:):)
Hi Eileen, I like the picture of the Grouse. Have a great Tuesday tomorrow!
That scenery is so gorgeous!
Great photos - and I appreciate having the opportunity to visit through your eyes.
Thanks you for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/10/beach-walk-at-sunrise.html
What a perfect time to visit the Park! Beautiful pictures.... love the views, the wonderful Autumn color -- really everything about this post, but especially the beautifully decorated pine trees!
Look at those awesome mountains, they are beautiful.
It really looks like you had a great time. My favorite part was you stopping for the birds as the lollygagged across the road.
The views, as you said, are indeed fabulous, and your shots great. I am awed by photos of snowcaps, most specially because i saw them only from a distance in very few instances abroad.
Wonderful images! Have a happy week!
Wonderful captures! You have presented them so well for the different themes.
Beautiful spot. I had no idea there were glaciers in the contiguous US. That moon shot is spectacular. Very impressive.
very nice pictures! such beautiful scenery!
Great collection of photos !!
Greetings
Hi Eileen,
waht a gorgeous photo of the moon !
This park is wonderful in the sunshine, but it seem´s to be cold.
Hope, all the birds have enough to eat.

Wow...these views are phenomenal. Stunning photos!
What a spectacular NP to visit, Eileen! The snow capped mountains looked so beautiful! It's nice to be one of the few on a road in a park like this so you can take your time driving and stop for photos and crossing birds--loved that photo!
Excellent photos. Looks like a great trip!
Gorgeous views of the mountains! Have a great week, Eileen!
I actually love to see snowy mountain but I don´t really want to be in them :) Yet, soon I will.
Gorgeous series!
Lovely shots, from what looks like a great trip! Funny that you're in the northwest while I went the other direction to southern Florida! I have a lot of catching up to do, but stay tuned for more butterfly photos coming soon, once I'm back home.
Beautiful countryside, and I love the Blue Grouse.
What a beautiful spot! Your moon shot is amazing and the snow topped mountains are pretty stunning!

Wow. What a place Eileen. No wonder it has become Hubby's fave spot. You had some lovely weather for your spectacular walks and equally beautiful photos. And Blue Grouse too - that's a new one on me. Thanks for those pictures and enjoy your week.
Excellent shots from "God's Country".

Eileen,
What a gorgeous journey and your photos show the beauty.
My Mother would say the same thing as the comment prior to mine-
"God's Country,"
Have a lovely afternoon,
Jemma
Oh, I so love the lighting in those pics with the grouse in the road. Not that they are nice to see, but the lighting just sets the mood.
I did enjoy my visit to the park. The scenery is magical. Great shot of the moon.
What fun to travel & see all of those breathtaking sites! I think those tracks on the snow have to be made by the goats.Thank-you so much for sharing, & have a wonderful rest of the week! Phyllis
Love those mountain views!
Hi Eileen,
Beautiful place you have visited!
I loved the photos, especially the one of the snow-capped mountain and your awesome shadow shot.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)
thanks for the visit to Hurricane Ridge and the Park, and for the map so I could orientate myself. We would love to visit Canada and the north America one day. I am currently reading "Wild" - have you read it?
Happy travels Eileen.
Hello Eileen!:) Sorry I'm a bit late visiting,...had flu all week. These are all fabulous shots of your hike in the park.I like the shadow shot of you and hubby:) and all the magnificent scenery, and birds. The Chestnut-backed chickadee and Bue grouse are new to me.
WOW! I have been to exactly that place! We had a great day exploring Hurricane Ridge - it was back in the days of film so I have about 4 pictures!
I would love to go back.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Gorgeous mountains, and the sunlight across the road is just beautiful. Interesting how the areas across our great country all have their own pros and cons about weather. Just viewing the hurricane area, very scary, but not something I live around, but tornadoes yes. Although ours aren't nearly as bad as some areas, I'm learning very quickly about tornado allies as well! Great photography throughout Eileen!
Eileen, sorry I haven't been around before - it's been a busy week!
But what a lovely selection of photo's you've shared here. The colours are just brilliant and great scenery too.
That moon shot is lovely
Do hope your week has gone well.
All the best Jan
How stunning all your pictures are!!!
Oh wow Eileen... These are really breathtaking photos. I have never seen mountains like that in person..I always enjoy your moon photos. You do such a good job.. Michelle
