Saturday's Critters #144

Saturday's Critters #144

Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.

I may be away from my computer but I will be visiting everyone as soon as possible.

These are some images from our walk to our lake, A Great Spangled Fritillary Butterfly, a juvenile male Scarlet Tanager, an Ovenbird and a Great Blue Heron flying low over the lake.

A not so good shot of the juvie Scarlet Tanager, they stay high up in the tree canopy.

A pretty Ovenbird, a breeder in the woods around our house and the lake.

I happen to catch a Great Blue Heron fly away. Can you find it?

I hope you enjoyed my birds and butterfly. It was a nice day to walk to the lake.

As always thanks for the visits and the nice comments. I also thank everyone who is linking up and sharing their critters.. Happy Saturday, have a great weekend!

Yes I see it! I always think of herons as being akin to the Vulcan Stealth Bomber...but that's just my crazy mind! The ovenbird is indeed lovely and another bird to add to my wish list. Knowing nothing about them I of course was prompted to search (as one does), and came across this rel="nofollow"> article...which, when I saw 'Bristol' had me wondering if the critters were over here in Blighty; but no, turns out this is Bristol VA. See how this birding lark takes us to far and new places??!!! YAM xx

  43. I saw a scarlet tananger only once in my yard. It was the day my son was born, and I took it as a sign to call my new "daughter" Scarlet! But when I had a bouncing baby boy and it didn't seem right to burden him with that name ;)

Love the shots of the ovenbird. I've never seen one, although I understand they are plentiful where we camp.

    Enjoy your weekend Eileen!
