Hello,
Happy Thursday, I wish everyone a great day! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and post.
I am sharing some birds and blooms from around our yard, spring 2017.
This is a loud House Wren that is nesting in a box on our deck. He/she is a loud fussy bird.
Some Clematis blooms growing on the fence.
This Rhododendron was planted before we moved in over 27 yrs ago. Now it is taller than our house.
I stopped putting out bird seed but once in while I spread some suet nuggets around the deck for the birds. This Catbird seems to love the suet balls.
I threw away most of my bird feeders but I kept just this one above and a suet feeder, luckily for this Rose-breasted Grosbeak that stopped by for a quick visit.
A closeup of one of our rhodo blooms.
For my Skywatch Friday photo, I am sharing a view of our lake and a pretty sky and reflection.
My list for Thankful Thursday:
I am thankful for warm sunny days!
I am thankful years ago my hubby planted and still takes care of these lovely plants and bushes. They are all growing well.
Thank you Michelle for hosting. Thankful Thursday

Lovely photos as ever, the catbird looks very plump - maybe it's been eating too much suet?
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen, just popped in to have a look-see, and loved what found, out of the three birds the only one I've seen is the Catbird, which I found at Shark valley in the Everglages.
ReplyDeleteThanks for looking at my post, Gordon.

ReplyDeleteHello Eileen, you and your husband have a most beautiful garden. The Rhododendron is magnificent isn't it... what a treasure. Such pretty Clematis too.
ReplyDeleteI love the birds that visit you, so lovely to have one nesting so close by.
The lake is so serene and it must be wonderful to look out on to it like that. Thanks for sharing all those great photos. Enjoy your weekend :D)
Eileen,
ReplyDeleteLovely, beautiful scenic photos! The view of your lake reminds me just a bit of Indian Boundary Lake in North Carolina. The Rhododendrons are blooming in Knoxville. One of the most spectacular places to see lots of them is at Roane Mountain State Park near Johnson City, Tennessee, which has a huge Rhododendron garden that spreads across the top of the mountain. It's internationally renowned and scientists from around the world have come to study these there. Thanks for sharing with the Skywatch Friday gang. Have a good weekend!
The beauty of America in summer time. The Catbird is superb.
ReplyDeleteFabulous backyard birds and flowers. The last image is a lovely view!
ReplyDeleteLovely capture on birds and flowers... Rose-breasted Grosbeak is very pretty with red chest
ReplyDeleteI just love rhododendrons and yours has some wonderful blooms.
ReplyDeleteJust love your last shot too, just beautiful.
Wishing you a Happy June ...
All the best Jan
I am glad you have birds in your summer yard to love ... and I am thankful that you share them with us!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds and flowers from your garden. I love the pink flowers. A lovely serene lake. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - love the flowers - and the birds are wonderful - we don't get nearly as much variety in our yard - thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm about ready to give up on my rhodo, too. I just cannot seem to find the right location for it. The deer decapitated them in the fall, despite me wrapping them with chicken wire!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy yours vicariously!
ReplyDeleteloved to see the catbird and a great sky :)
ReplyDeleteI some how missed This! There is a house wren around here, but did not build on the porch. I am thankful for that because I was always anxious that my one cat would catch one of them. I no longer feed birds at all because the starlings are so domineering that the songbirds get very little when I do put it out.
ReplyDeleteLots of beautiful nature to be found near you, and such lovely lake views. I hope you're having a wonderful week!
