Little Blue Heron

Happy Monday,

I had a nice new theme picked out and my critter linky was not compatible. So, I had to change the theme again.  I am not sure how much I like this one, but maybe it will grow on me until I find another.

My wild bird this week is the Little Blue Heron. I have seen this bird in Florida and in Maryland. These are some various shots of the juvenile and adult Little Blue Herons.

The Little Blue Heron is 24inches long, is blue-grey in color with a purplish head and neck.

The Little Blue has a long pointed bill with a black tip.

The young juvenile Little Blue Heron is all white, with greenish legs. They turn the blue-grey color as they mature.

I hope you enjoyed my photos and post.
As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

My list of memes for today, I hope to see you there. Thanks to both of the host below.

I like this theme too, Eileen... I tend to just 'dress' my blogs rather than changing the themes as such... much less trouble! And herons are always a winner YAM xx

  9. Good morning Eileen. Those Little Blue Herons are just beautiful. It's rather strange that they change colour from white to blue like that. It must confuse some newere birds?

    Have a great week ahead.

  13. my blog is the same as it was the day I creaed it in 2008. I tried to change it but never did. even when I have comments about not likeing black and it being hard to read. it is easy for me to read so I leave it. I did for the first 3 years change the page background to match each post, but then I realized it matched that post but all the others looked odd. that said I do like the new look here, like the colors a lot

  14. Maybe birds “change colors” just like people . . .
Herons seem to have graceful in their makeup.
