Saturday's Critters #198

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

Can someone tell where September went, this month just flew by. These are some images from our more recent fire road walks and walks around the lake.

This Great Blue Heron was way across the lake and the photo was fuzzy, so I used Lunapic to make more of a watercolor painting of my Great Blue Heron.

This may be a snapping turtle swimming in the lake. It looks kind of big.

We found a Red-spotted Purple Butterfly sitting on the fire road near the lake.

The Double-crested Cormorant can be seen on our lake.

Some of the birds seen along the fire road, the Indigo Bunting, American Goldfinch, I believe the bottom right is the Eastern Wood-PeWee

I had a problem with my latest blogger "theme" , it was not compatible with Mr Linky for my  Saturday's Critter party. So once again I had to change my theme. I am not sure if it will stay this way, maybe just until I find one I like better that will work for the linky.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments! I hope you enjoy my post and photos too!

Here is a list of my linky parties;
Also visit:  I'd-Rather-B-BirdinThanks to the gracious host: Anni.

Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for your beautiful critters this week. I always see birds from your posts that I've never seen yet.
Unfortunately, I don't have any critters to share in my recent blog. So, no linking up here this time. But I do enjoy visiting your critters party.
Have a great weekend!

Hoi Eileen,
My name is also a second time but it did not work. I can not read anything in the fillbags and it's going wrong.

LOL, the Loch Ness Turtle? Remember water will magnify depending on the angle you are looking into it. Don't snappers have a hooked nose? Trying to remember from my childhood. We had them on my grandparent's farm. I'll probably go look that up now........
Enjoy your day.

Hello Eileen I love how you've made the oil painting effect on the heron at the lake!
The indigo bunting & goldfinch are my favourites!
Thanks for hosting & enjoy the weekend!

I'm having trouble posting a link Eileen. Is it OK at your end?

Joyful said...

Beautiful photos Eileen. You always show such a wide variety of bird life and that is wonderful.

Unfortunately my link doesn't work. It will take readers to a blank page. I tried several times to put the link in and even erase what is stored but it simply won't work. I might try again tomorrow.

Have a lovely weekend.

...Eileen, I seem to have a problem with your new blog format and linking. Things didn't go as usual.

Wonder what the Cormorant's are looking at . . .
Something flying above to swoop them up?
The Indiago Bunting has to be one of the prettiest . . .
Oh my . . . that color!

Jenn Jilks said...

Eileen, I think the font colour within the frame is white, and you cannot see what you type in. It looks like nothing is written. I had to highlight it, then I could see. Hope that helps!

Salty Pumpkin Studio said...

Beautiful photos. That is a big turtle. The heron does make a lovely painting. Hope you have a wonderful week-end

Kenneth Cole Schneider said...

Love the heron photo and the bunting. I think the font color needs to be changed as it does not display. I have the same trouble when I comment on another's comment in my blog, so I simply stopped using that feature as I cannot make changes in my chosen format in blogger.

this looks like a GREAT place to walk with a camera, you always see incredible birds!! i love the bunting (i don't see them here) and the goldfinch is still so bright. i have not see a goldfinch in weeks - they seem to "go away" and i see them again the first time it snows!!

have a great weekend eileen, and many thanks for hosting us. we are so close to 200, imagine that!!!

Oh and I always copy and paste my links ...it is so much easier than typing it in... on some other linkys I join, even pasting does that bing where only part of it shows, but it still works.

Hello Eileen, I've been wondering the same thing about September, I just can't believe that our summer has been gobbled up by the autumn! Time is moving too quickly. Lovely shots of your critters and how lovely nature is at the end of your camera lens!

Pictures taken across a lake are often blurred by the mist rising from the water. Nice job on prettifying it.
