Can someone tell where September went, this month just flew by. These are some images from our more recent fire road walks and walks around the lake.
This may be a snapping turtle swimming in the lake. It looks kind of big.
We found a Red-spotted Purple Butterfly sitting on the fire road near the lake.
The Double-crested Cormorant can be seen on our lake.
Some of the birds seen along the fire road, the Indigo Bunting, American Goldfinch, I believe the bottom right is the Eastern Wood-PeWee
I had a problem with my latest blogger "theme" , it was not compatible with Mr Linky for my Saturday's Critter party. So once again I had to change my theme. I am not sure if it will stay this way, maybe just until I find one I like better that will work for the linky.
Here is a list of my linky parties;

This Great Blue Heron was way across the lake and the photo was fuzzy, so I used Lunapic to make more of a watercolor painting of my Great Blue Heron.

What a fantastic series, Eileen! Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you have a glorious weekend!
Hi Eileen-
Happy Saturday!
I can see all your beautiful photos, but I can't type anything in the link box. May be it is just me. I will check back in a bit.
Have a Happy Weekend and as always, thanks for hosting!
Peace :)
Hi Eileen, These are pretty photos. I especially love the butterfly. Wishing you a nice Saturday.
I am having trouble linking up but will try again later.
Almost a Monet, what a great app. And the Blue Bunting, beautiful.
That beautiful butterfly is totally new to me.
Have a nice sunny weekend!

Hi Eileen, thanks for hosting this meme. I've linked but found that you had new website. Is this normal or am I reading it differently somehow. I think I managed to link up. Have a great Saturday. Jo
Hello,
Wonderful photos! The Red-Spotted Purple Butterfly was very pretty.
Happy Weekend!
Thanks for your beautiful critters this week. I always see birds from your posts that I've never seen yet.
Unfortunately, I don't have any critters to share in my recent blog. So, no linking up here this time. But I do enjoy visiting your critters party.
Have a great weekend!
Happy Weekend to you too Eileen
Hello Eileen,
I wanted to link the ice birds, but I do not see anything on the input bar. I can not see what I type and can now link nit too.
What's up can get you removed because it went wrong. I have grumbled but I can not manage it, sorry.
Regards, Helma

Hmmmmm... are you sure that wasn't Nessie having a break from the Loch??? &*> Happy weekend. YAM xx
Hoi Eileen,
My name is also a second time but it did not work. I can not read anything in the fillbags and it's going wrong.
LOL, the Loch Ness Turtle? Remember water will magnify depending on the angle you are looking into it. Don't snappers have a hooked nose? Trying to remember from my childhood. We had them on my grandparent's farm. I'll probably go look that up now........
Enjoy your day.
Hello Eileen I love how you've made the oil painting effect on the heron at the lake!
The indigo bunting & goldfinch are my favourites!
Thanks for hosting & enjoy the weekend!
Great images today....my favorite is the Bunting collage.
I'm having trouble posting a link Eileen. Is it OK at your end?
Beautiful photos Eileen. You always show such a wide variety of bird life and that is wonderful.
Unfortunately my link doesn't work. It will take readers to a blank page. I tried several times to put the link in and even erase what is stored but it simply won't work. I might try again tomorrow.
Have a lovely weekend.
interesting and great observations!
...Eileen, I seem to have a problem with your new blog format and linking. Things didn't go as usual.
Wonder what the Cormorant's are looking at . . .
Something flying above to swoop them up?
The Indiago Bunting has to be one of the prettiest . . .
Oh my . . . that color!
Eileen, I think the font colour within the frame is white, and you cannot see what you type in. It looks like nothing is written. I had to highlight it, then I could see. Hope that helps!
Beautiful photos. That is a big turtle. The heron does make a lovely painting. Hope you have a wonderful week-end
Love the heron photo and the bunting. I think the font color needs to be changed as it does not display. I have the same trouble when I comment on another's comment in my blog, so I simply stopped using that feature as I cannot make changes in my chosen format in blogger.
If, in fact, that is a snapper, IT IS HUGE!!!!...:)JP
this looks like a GREAT place to walk with a camera, you always see incredible birds!! i love the bunting (i don't see them here) and the goldfinch is still so bright. i have not see a goldfinch in weeks - they seem to "go away" and i see them again the first time it snows!!
have a great weekend eileen, and many thanks for hosting us. we are so close to 200, imagine that!!!
The link-up works now Eileen so I posted the correct one. As ever, thanks for the chance to join in.
Oh I love that Indigo bunting! That is one Big turtle!!
Helloo, Nice post and beautiful pics.
Happy Weekend.
I love the pretty colorful birds. We're not seeing many 'yard birds' right now! Hope they come back for the cooler weather. Happy Saturday! Hugs, Diane
Indigo Buntings have already left us at this latitude. I will miss them!
What a great walk, Eileen!
I love your birds and turtles and butterflies, Eileen!
Those fire roads make the best places for your walks...and of course having a Lake nearby is wonderful. September always seems to fly...summer is always too short! Thank you for hosting .
lovely birds
Hope you're having a great weekend.
Oh and I always copy and paste my links ...it is so much easier than typing it in... on some other linkys I join, even pasting does that bing where only part of it shows, but it still works.
Lovely shots, Eileen. The first image of the heron worked out extremely well!
Thanks for hosting and have a great week!
I like the blue bird singing and the yellow bird turning his back to us... and it does look like a snapper turtle.
A nice variety for the last day of September. Happy Day.
Linking worked just fine.
Beautiful images as always.
Eileen, like the action photo of the turtle. Thanks for sharing.
My favourite is the butterfly. Have a happy weekend!
The photo of the snapping turtle is very interesting. Love the colors of the Indigo Bunting and the Goldfinch. So pretty. Thanks for hosting, Eileen. I have something a little different with my link-up today. Hope your weekend is going well.
Those little birds are so beautiful.. the other I saw a egret like bird in the water, but it was grey, not white.. do you know what kind of bird that could be..
Quite a big snapper!
Awesome nature shots, Eileen ~ favorite is the butterfly ~ ^_^
(A ShutterBug Explores) ~ thanks for commenting ^_^
Beautiful Butterfly, I love them all, thanks Eileen.
Hoi Eileen,
thank you for your help. I really did not come along with you anymore and could not help but send you a ride. Thank you for linking and I hope to get the weather next time ;-)
All good sunday yet.
Regards, Helma
Very nice !
Hello Eileen, I've been wondering the same thing about September, I just can't believe that our summer has been gobbled up by the autumn! Time is moving too quickly. Lovely shots of your critters and how lovely nature is at the end of your camera lens!
Hi Eileen -I love that Indigo Bunting, you always find such amazing birds that I have never seen!

Such colourful birds, so nice to see.

All the best Jan
Beautiful, Eileen. That butterfly knocks my socks off!
Yeah! The link works today.
Nice photos, especially the butterfly. yeah, September has just flown by!
Another great series of photos!! And I don't know where September went either. The holidays will be here before we know it - YIKES!!!
Fascinating turtle photo. All great photos and I like how you turned the Great Blue Heron into a painting. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Eileen :)
Pictures taken across a lake are often blurred by the mist rising from the water. Nice job on prettifying it.
September isn't hiding here. It breezed in and breezed out in the blink of an eye.

Oh, I love all these beautiful Critters !!

Lovely capture on birds and butterfly and nice/neat watercolour effect on the blue heron! Amazing how the turtle swim and it's back looks dry enough...
Nice series of pictures Eileen..Love the butterfly...That's a big turtle..I hope you are having a good weekend...
Sorry I am late visiting. Bud & I had a family pet of 25 years pass away last night.
Thanks so much for faithfully linking up & sharing your birds!
Great shots Eileen, it would've been hard to focus on the swimming turtle :D) xx
Hi Eileen, I sure miss all my songbirds. Not seeing many at all since our hurricane. We do have Wood Storks around at the moment which is always fun. Your pictures are great! Love that Goldfinch! Have a wonderful day tomorrow and a pleasant week.
