Welcome to Saturday's Critters! Hello and Happy Saturday!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
I am away from my computer, I will be visiting and commenting as soon as I can. Thank you for participating and for all your comments.
1. This one of two bunnies that I always see in our yard. The White-throated Sparrow is one of my winter birds, still being seen.
2.
3. Not the best photos of the Eastern Phoebe, taken from my kitchen window. I am seeing some spring birds moving in even though my winter birds have not left.
4. Our walk on our local fire road, we met a new neighbor with her three cute dogs. They were friendly dogs and seemed happy to meet us too.
5. Another day our walk was to the lake, we saw a few Canada Geese and two Double-crested Cormorants.
6. A view of the Prettyboy reservoir, the trees were starting to see signs of spring. The buds are a red color.
7. A closer look at the Double-crested Cormorants.
8. A Canada Geese looks to be sitting on a nest next to the water.
9. Sometimes I am lucky capturing birds in my yard and on my deck. On this day I saw both the Downy Woodpecker and the Hairy Woodpecker stop for some of the nuggets I put out on the deck railing. The photos shows the size difference between the two different woodpeckers. The Hairy Woodpecker is much larger. The Downy Woodpecker is about 6 1/2 inches compare it to the Hairy Woodpecker is 9 inches.
Another puzzle completed, looks like a scene from an African safari.
I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.
Thanks to all my visitors and for your past and present comments. Stop back to see any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves and respects wildlife. Thank you for linking up a critter post.
Here is my linky:
Thank you for sharing your critters and post!
Your garden birds are very photogenic -- also the bunny. I see bunnies but I never know how many as they all look alike to me. They love eating the new shoots of the hostas, and we don't know why, as there are rabbits everywhere and they don't eat the hostas in the neighbors' gardens.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the critter weekend.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thank you Mae, for your link and comment. The bunnies just seem to eat grass or weeds here. They must love your hostas. Take care, have a great day!

Take care, have a great day!
Dear Eileen,
ReplyDeletenow I was able to take some time to look at your post in more detail. Wonderful, the bird visits in your yard - I'm particularly pleased that you were able to photograph two different woodpeckers at the same time. The sightings in the Prettyboy reservoir are also very nice - it's good that there are new offspring of Canada geese. The three dogs from the neighborhood also seem like very pleasant encounters.
Your latest puzzle is very pretty, too. From our experiences on our African safaris, I can tell you that you will never see such scenes in person. The cheetahs avoid being near lions, especially when they have cubs, and when the elephants come to the waterhole, all the other animals flee because elephants need so much space and splash so much ;-DDD. But as a picture it is beautiful!
I hope you're having a good time wherever you are!
All the best, Traude

I love seeing cormorants, since I have seen so few in my life. There are bunnies here, but I am not sure how many. We had adventures with squirrels yesterday...told about it on the blog. But my daughter more or less saved two. Both from Copper and from drowning.
ReplyDeleteI am still on a jigsaw puzzle kick...I try to not work so much on one that I finish it too quick. But it is hard not to work on it every spare moment.
