Saturday's Critters # 539

Welcome to Saturday's Critters! Hello and Happy Saturday!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

This is a mish-mash of photos from various days and walks to the lake, on the fire road, a few of my yard birds and a visit with our son's family.

1. Our walk to the lake, it was a warm day.  It was nice to see the turtles out sunny themselves on a log.

2. A larger look at the Slider Turtles, they are always fun to see.

3. During our walks to the lake, we have seen the Canada Geese hanging in this same spot multiple times.

4. The Downy Woodpecker is a daily visitor to my yard, it also enjoys the suet nuggets.

5. The White-throated Sparrow is a winter bird that enjoys the suet nuggets I put out for my yard birds.  One day I saw a female Pine Warbler grabbing a few nuggets, I was sorry I missed getting a photo.

6. We saw the Brown Creeper during one of our walks on the local fire road.

7. One day we had lunch with our son and his family and enjoyed watching our grandsons playing on their new playset. The Grand-dogs enjoyed being out in the yard with us all.

8. A puzzle I completed in early March, the undersea life, the colorful fish are so pretty.

I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday  I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.

Thank you for sharing your critters and post!

  1. Good Morning, dear Eileen, it seems you had a fine week with your family, walks on the lakeside... viewing the nature. I was reading with great pleasure. The woodpacker is a well known bird here too, and we like him.

  6. Dear Eilleen,
Thank you for your warm welcome words (you recognized the American Robin and the Meadowlark well ;-)) - and for your beautiful photos here. I'm happy about the animals you saw - and also that there was a reunion with the grandchildren and grand dogs. The puzzle is beautiful, will you hang it on the wall?
All the best and best wishes after my blog break,

  27. Dear Eileen I forgot to say thank you for hosting as you must never think I take you for granted.:=) The white flower is not the wild garlic, but it's a wild white flower often seen in the northern Portuguese meadows, I don't know it's name, but you were right about the Greenfinch which you noticed on the previous post.

  31. I wish I would see the variety of birds you see in your back yard. I am enjoying my new Birdfy bird feeder, but I want more bird varieties visiting it! I added a perch pro to my Amazon wish list. The perch would allow me to feed orioles and hummingbirds. I believe I would have to omit the bird seed, though, as the bird birds would probably scare away the small birds,

    1. I like your birdfly feeder, I had to look up the perch pro attachment. The orioles do love the oranges and grape jelly.

  34. Hi Eileen,

It's always delightful to hear about the diversity of wildlife you encounter on your walks to the lake and around your yard. Turtles basking in the sun, frequent sightings of Canada Geese, and visits from various birds, including the charming Downy Woodpecker and the White-throated Sparrow, certainly bring nature closer to home. It's always special when you spot less common visitors like the Pine Warbler and the Brown Creeper!

Thank you, Eileen, for sharing these photos. Your Saturday’s Critters posts always weave together a rich tapestry of nature's beauty intertwined with family joy. Thank you, as always, for hosting and sharing.
