Saturday's Critters # 538

Welcome to Saturday's Critters! Hello and Happy Saturday!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

It's the first Saturday in April and time is just flying by. I am still behind sharing photos, these are from our getaway to the Maryland shore back in Feb 8-10 2024. Now I am hoping to see our Spring-Summer birds return to my yard and neighborhood.

1. Mosaic is mainly showing the Tundra Swans, a native swan in Maryland. They are seen in the winter months.

2. In the photo below, there the Tundra Swans, Canada Geese, a few Northern Pintails and a few other ducks across the pond.

3.  The wildlife refuge has always some Bald Eagles, either flying around or perched in a tree.

4.  A male and female Northern Shoveler.

5. Below are a group of Northern Pintails.

6. The Tundra Swan flock was flying in to land on the pond.

7. We saw a few Great Blue Herons around the wildlife drive and refuge.

8. Leaving Bombay Hook NWR we drove past a field with a huge group of Snow Geese.  I was able pull over on the side of the road to take a few photos.

9. A closer look at the Snow Geese in the field.

10. Another puzzle finished, one of my favorites with the polar bear and northern lights.

Extra photo: Easter with the grandson and family.

I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday  I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.

Thanks to all my visitors and for your past and present comments. Stop back to see any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves and respects wildlife. Thank you for linking up a critter post.

  1. Good morning, Eileen, reading your Post with a cup of Hot Coffee... waiting for our cat outside in the Garden. I love swans too. We visit them on some days - if we can - on a lake nearby.

  7. Hi Eileen, Thanks for sharing more from your getaway to the Maryland shore back in February. The Tundra Swans are so interesting. Is one of the Great Blue Herons standing on its nest? Love the shots of the Snow Geese. The Polar Bear puzzle … bet that one was a challenge. 😊 What a beauty. Thanks for including the “happiness” photos … Easter with the grandson and family. Lastly, I’ve thought about you several times since the St Francis Bridge went down. I didn’t think the Bridge was close to you, but Maryland has sure been in the news. What a tragedy for the area. Thanks, as always, for hosting and sharing Saturday’s Critters. Happy week ahead to you and your family. John

The Herons nest in the trees, I think the heron on my photos is just resting.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge is close to an hour from my home. The bridge completes the circle of the Baltimore Beltway. It is a tragedy, I am hoping they get the clean done quickly so the port of Baltimore can get back to business. Seeing my grandsons happy makes me happy. Take care, have a great weekend.

Your puzzle is amazing. Personally, I'm not a fan of making puzzles, but I remember my grandparents loved it too. They had one of Queen Elizabeth when she was young. My little brother accidentally bumped into it (it was hanging up) and then the painting fell down and the puzzle also broke.
