I am linking up this post with Mary's Mosaic Monday and That's My World it is of my recent yardbirds and a walk today along the fireroad to the lake.
It is Spring at least on the calendar, I am not sure if my yardbirds know it though. I am still seeing my winter birds and I am on the watch for any sign of my summer, migrants or my breeding birds. Some winter birds still here are the Juncos, White throated Sparrows and Pine Siskins and the Fox Sparrow.
Pictured in my yardbird mosaic are the male Pine Warlber, Junco, Bluejay, Chickadee, female Cardinal and a Fox Sparrow.

After watching my yardbirds in the early morning hubby and I drove around the lake for a walk on another fireroad. It was a pretty day with a beautiful blue sky but very cold temps were in the high 30's. Nice day for a brisk walk and I wanted to see a different part of the lake then the usual part we just walk to. Goldie Girl enjoys a car ride and the walking. I was happy to see my first of the year Eastern Phoebe.
I was hoping the fireroad would take us all the way to the lake but, the trail down to the lake was rocky and steep. I decided to let hubby and Goldie Girl take the small trail down to the lake edge. I stayed at the top and took a shot of the lake from the fireroad. Below is Goldie Girl huffing and puffing back up the steep hill.
Please join in and visit Mosaic Monday and That's My World. Thanks to Mary of Mosaic Monday and to the gang at That's My World.
Also, thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Hi, Eileen! Your yard birds are beautiful. I especially like the Pine Warbler. Mine seem to have left us for the summer.
I have been having a good time catching up on your blog. It is always so much fun.

It looks like you and I had the same idea today -- going for a walk. Our weather sounds similar, too, except it was a few degrees colder here. Goldie Girl is a beautiful dog; I love her coloring. Although the trail we walked was maintained well, your fireroad looks in much better condition! At least there wasn't any snow and ice along the way! Your bird pictures are great!
your photography is wonderful--I feel like I'm right there. Love your bird collage especially! Have a good week!
Enjoyed seeing the birds you see in your own yard. I saw my first robin today. He was wearing a parka and snow boots warming his hands over a fire he had going. Poor thing!
Nice spring walk...I'm sure that it was brisk. Even though she may have been huffing and puffing, your dog looks perfectly happy to be out for a walk.
The scenery is beautiful and I love the birds...like you, I'm wishing for warmer temps...and we need some sunshine here!!! Have a beautiful week!!!
It does look like a lovely day to be out, even in colder temperatures.
What a lovely walk - I'm attracted to the water too, especially at this time of year. I imagine that the view will be quite different when the leaves fill in.
Oh, I love your birds! Lovely mosaics this week! And your banner is amazing! I look up in the sky all the time! ♥
looks like a lovely walk, Goldie Girl is sweet :) You get such beautiful visitors, love your yardbirds!
Eileen, I don't blame the birds for not migrating north yet! It's cold here still! But it's supposed to be warmer next week. :)
Looks like you had a beautiful walk and I love your mosaics. Your winter Junco will be our summer Junco when he heads north. I always enjoy seeing them in my yard.
Sweet pup!!!
You're the second blogger I've seen tonight post a fox sparrow. Neat!
Oh your birds are so cute and varied. You really got some good shots. I'm waiting to see them return to the yard here soon. Your drive and walk looked great, too.
Oh, it looks like a grand place for a walk, Eileen! And I love all your birds, too. I have never seen a Fox Sparrow... not sure if we have them in NJ. I'll have to check the bird book. Thanks for sharing your beautiful images at MM. :)
What a beautiful day you had! Thank you for sharing with me.
Morning Eileen, great mosaics and photographs. I am sure I have said before that we do not have a lot of these birds in our gardens in the UK and I love to see yours.Jackie in Surrey, UK.
Amazing captures Eileen.
Have a lovely week.

What a great place for a walk in Spring. Good on you Goldie. The birds are so different and pretty.
Your post has melted my heart..such lovely images. And that's a beautiful world you live in.

I always think that birds are so colourful to brighten up our world.
I share your longing for the spring migrants, Eileen, but would be happy with a winter bird, the Fox Sparrow, which I haven't seen since briefly last fall.
Our yard birds are doing a lot of pairing up and I hear them singing in the morning now. I just love spring. Lovely photos of your yardbirds. V
The pine warblers and fox sparrow have not returned to our area yet. A beautiful trail to walk along, so peaceful looking. Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hi Eileen, Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures of your birds and the walk. I have never seen a Fox Sparrow before. Have a wonderful Monday!
Your spring is not so far ahead of ours in Michigan. We're seeing a lot of spring courtship displays, and migratory species are stopping here on their way north. I haven't gotten such good photos of the yard birds as yours, though.
Great photos of the birds! What a pretty dog. I am like her, I would be huffing and puffing back up the hill also. :D
Lovely assortment of birds. Spring will come! Great pics of your walk.
Your yard bird mosaic is awesome! What a nice variety you get!
You are lucky to see so many wonderful birds in your own backyard!
Wonderful mosaic Eillen. Your walk looked peaceful. I wouldn't have wanted to climb back up a steep hill either, and would have waited at the top like you did! ;)
Eileen, your Goldy is enjoying the sun. The weather is so beautiful!
Everyone is happy for spring and I could see the birds are happy too!
Wonderful mosaic post.
P.S. I have not been blogging for a while...
Beautiful birds even if they aren't the spring version! Love the lake mosaic and your new header as well.
Great walk!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
What a great, fun post and photos for the day, Eileen! Such a wonderful walk! Thanks for taking us along with you! Hope you have a wonderful week!

You know what Eileen -- on my I Google home page I have a little gadget from 'my birding place.com' that has rotating professional bird photos. Most of them are not nearly as good as yours.
Thanks for sharing yours; .
i love the different variety of birds. your nature shots are amazingly beautiful.
Great idea to take the camera out for a walk too, great visuals. I like your mosaic presentation.
Goldie Girl is lovely! What a wonderful place to walk.. and what gorgeous bird shots too.
Very lovely and colorful birds.
Wow..I'm jealous with your birds collection. So many different kinds and just adorable..
some birds really looks cool.
Oh, love the birdies, they are so beautiful!
And I admit, I am envious for your walks, whoa, so beautiful there!
Beautiful, beautiful photos and mosaics (as usual). Here also, some birds have returned (Yay-Phoebes!!!) but not all.
Looks like it was a wonderful walk!
I was trying to remember if I see juncos in the summer. It's been fun seeing the chickadees. I don't remember seeing them around in the past. We've been inconsistent with our winter feeding efforts up until the last few years.
A lovely walk! So green and spring-like... and of course, I'm in love with your dog.
