I have a few photos from my latest trip, we started the trip driving down the Blueridge Parkway. We were checking out the fall foliage and of course I could not go anywhere without looking for the birds.

Above, we stopped at this overlook to see the view when I noticed it is the site for the local Hawk Migration Count. A few birders were there watching for the hawks.

just right to get into the autumn mood...now if only the temp's here would cooperate & cool down! (actually it DID cool down last night...and stayed down in the low 80's during the day...)

I have always wanted to go down to Mabry Mill. Maybe next year! Loved all your photos Eileen, such beautiful country out there and that was a cute shot of the bird.
How was the hawk count there this year? The numbers were way, WAY down at one of my favourite haunts, but it might just mean that the hawks were flying very high.
That Mill looks like something out of the Shire. I am liking your fun. Somedays I don't have to go far.....while other days, there is maybe one bird hanging out. Fun trips you have going on here:)
