Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
I am sharing some birds and wildlife seen on one of our bike trail walks. Below is the Eastern Towhee. This Towhee is seen and heard often in the summer months in my area. I have photos of the front and back of our male Eastern Towhee.
A Mourning Dove is peeking at me, there was a nest nearby maybe hers.
I think this is a black snake crossed the trail in front of us.
Lately we have been seeing the White-tailed Deer along the bike trail.
This deer hiding in the grass was to busy eating to notice us walking by.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments! I hope you enjoy my post and photos too!
Here is a list of my linky parties;

A Worm-eating Warbler was seen and heard often along this trail. They must be nesting nearby.

dearest Eileen; I'll come back later to comment about this post. Thank you SO much for your thought and comment for my trouble with the photobucket. After 2 days struggling, I almost found the way to fix it by using the site. I really appreciate your thought.

Pretty birds from your bike trail walks. The mourning dove is cute, the way it peeks at you! Have a beautiful weekend!
ReplyDeleteall of these are "hard to catch" critters. Loved to see the snake. :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a gret week ahead.
Love the sightings of the lttle Deer. Happy anniversary for your 8th year blogging. quite an achievement Eileen. Fabulous sunset image in yesterday's post. Have a lovely weekend
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of all the birds! The first one I have never seen before. I understand that you are used to see snakes. I am terribly afraid of them, so I'm glad for my chilly climate ;)
Happy Saturday, and enjoy your weekend!

ReplyDeleteAs ever, you take us with you on your wanderings! Happy weekend. YAM xx
lovely photos, specially the towhee, such a handsome bird!
ReplyDeleteHi, Nice post. Beautiful pics.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend
I have seen the Towhee in person and it is a pretty bird. John and our dog saw a doe and fawn yesterday in our yard. Your pics are very nice this morn. Have a nice Sat.
ReplyDeleteNice views of the towhee-- much more complete than those of the deer(;>)
ReplyDeleteWe have seen much fewer towhees both here in Illinois and back home in Florida. They nest in both locations but it does seem their population is doen, at least in our favorite birding locales.
To see the birds [any towhee would be a new one for me] and the deer on the trail...YES!!! But snakes?! No thank you!!!!!
ReplyDeletecute birds:)
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen!:) The Eastern Towhee is a handsome bird, many thanks for showing both the front and back, equally attractive in both these shots. It's not easy to photograph birds which are black, especially on the head. Tantalizing shots of the deer and the dove, and great image of the snake. Thank you kindly for hosting, and have a great weekend.:)
ReplyDeleteGood morning Eileen , your Eastern Towhee is beautiful! Wish we had them around here. Hope you have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe've had so many critters about! We've had a ton of rain, too. Love your snake!
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful nature photos ~ my favorite is the deer busy eating ~ nice capture ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteSo nice to walk along with you, Eileen. Enjoy your fine weekend
ReplyDeleteEileen, nice bird and White-tailed deer captures, but I could do without the snake. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the Deer and the Towhee!
ReplyDeleteWe have Towhees here. I see them at the bird feeders, and sometimes see them sitting on a low branch calling to each other. But I have had a difficult time trying to get a good photograph
Have a wonderful week-end!
A glorious and beautiful series, Eileen! Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
ReplyDeleteI always loved seeing the Towhee in NC! And we see black snakes here pretty often....eeee! I know they are good snakes but I still don't like to see them. Have a good weekend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteA great selection of lovely green and summery images, Eileen. I was taking a walk in the cold and frost this morning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting!
Dearest Eileen; What an unique back shot of Towhee, the tail is so impressive, isn't it♪ I LOVE the sweet peeking eye of Dove♡♡♡ I also smiled the deer's ears looking big and cute from the back p;-)
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, I haven't seen snake since I was a child. I wondered if it is a good thing or not.
Wishing you a happy weekend and coming new week; Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend, xoxo Miyako*
I always enjoy critters, even the pretty snake...
ReplyDeleteGood selection of critters today as always.
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how many birds you know the names of!!
I am having trouble posting here today, which is something that hasn't occurred for me before. How do I delete incorrect listings on today's linky? Thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteYour Eastern Towhee is really pretty, looks like he has a ruffled crown on top, and a beautiful fan of tail feathers. I have quite a lot of white-winged dove in my yard and really enjoy them. Sometimes I sit and 'coo' at them, and they really watch me! I love seeing deer, but don't see them very often. Around here you have to drive out of the city limits to catch a glimpse! I enjoyed your post, Eileen. Have a very nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the birds, deer and snake! I saw a black snake as a kid at Girl Scout camp and will never forget it. It helped me understand that some snakes are harmless. Thanks for your comment on my post! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLoving the pics of your critters!
ReplyDeleteThe deer is a welcome sight to see!
ReplyDeleteExcellent shots. Love the rich color of the deer--don't you just love their big ears. Have a good weekend
ReplyDeleteMB
You do such a grand job catching all of these wonderful birds, Eileen! Thanks for hosting us!
ReplyDeleteI just love all the photos, and that Towhee is quite the photogenic fellow. That tuft on his head is eye-catching.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day.
Hello Eileen, the Eastern Towhee is a handsome bird. I love the Worm Eating Warbler's large eye/s. and the snake is one of my favorite critters on your post today. Thanks for sharing and thanks for hosting this meme. I, too love all critters and hope you and your followers will enjoy my "horsey" critters this week. Have a great weekend. Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen. Hope you are enjoying your Saturday? Strange as it may seem I actually quite like snakes, maybe because they are pretty rare in our Northern Hemisphere. So it was good to see the Black Snake and maybe think about your reaction to it.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say. Thanks once again for the link-up each Saturday.
ReplyDeleteNice birds, but the wild snake is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteSomeone has their ears up listening to sounds around.
ReplyDeleteThe birds are beautiful.
Beautiful snaps.
Thanks for hosting.
Have a Happy Weekend, Eileen.
Peace :)
Hello Eileen and thanks for sharing another fine selection of birds! the Towhee is a great looking bird!

ReplyDeleteAll of nature calling, and I love the snake.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to wander along a bush track with you and check out the wildlife.
ReplyDeleteMerle..........
Nice walking with you. Such wonderful critters. Let's do it again.
ReplyDeleteAll very cool shots, but amazed how calm the snake was. My experience, one sight and zoom, they're history.
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen, darn work got in the way, but I'm here now. Your mix of birds and nature, and that sweet deer are so pleasing, maybe not the snake so much, but they do have their purpose, right?! Of course they do. Enjoy your weekend and your hikes, and critters!
ReplyDeleteOh, you got a great snake shot, I am so jealous. That's a beauty. I am always hoping to and have seen a few on the bike trails. Well done.
ReplyDeleteEileen I love that second photo, he almost looks as if he is trying to get his pose right and seeking your approval :)
ReplyDeleteDiana
Do you ever notice how the deer change color? I love it when they are the color of the ones you show here....but in the winter here they just sort of have a gray look that blends with the grayness of the landscape.
ReplyDeleteanyway, you have a nice variety of animals today!
The Towhee is a handsome bird, how nice to have them around.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that even a photo of a snake makes me cringe? And this is a harmless one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking in at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend Eileen.
