Wood Thrush

Hello and Happy Monday.

I am sharing the Wood Thrush, it has a beautiful song. I always enjoy hearing them sing. Sometimes I hear them singing from my deck, they breed in the forest next to our house. I often hear them during my walks on our local fire roads. These are some recent photos from our walks.  The best photos I have  of the Wood Thrush, so far.

The Wood Thrush is a medium sized Thrush with upper brown parts and white underparts.

Their breast and belly have dark brown spots, they have a white eye ring and pink legs.

I hope you enjoyed my photos and post.
As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

My list of memes for today, I hope to see you there. Thanks to both of the host below.

Your Wood Thrush is very pretty! I'll have to look for them on You Tube to see if anyone has posted them singing. We've had some pretty songs coming out of the trees in my neighborhood this summer, but, I don't know what birds are singing. Happy Monday, Eileen!

Such sweet birdies.

I love the ones that sing ................we only have seagulls around right now. Not exactly a melodic sound. LOL

Beautiful...I love these Wood Thrushes and sad that their numbers are on the decline. I know that we have them near our home and I am thankful. I went to a site to hear their song after you mentioned it and I recognized it, but never knew who the "artist" was ;) Thank you for everything~

Hello Eileen!:) A beautiful Thrush, and lovely photos. I read somewhere that it's declining in numbers, so you are very lucky to see and hear it where you live.

Lovely shots of the Wood Thrush Eileen. I just wish I could hear its song right now. Your Wood Thrush reminds me of our own Mistle Thrush, another fine and loud songster. Enjoy the rest of your week.

The grid can also sing beautifully. The wood trush too. Nice to get this songbird on the picture. Have another great week.

Wood Thrush has become increasingly rare in recent years, and I consider myself lucky if I see three or four in a year. It is surely one of the most glorious songsters in all the bird world.
