Saturday's Critters #202

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters and your family pets, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

I am sharing a mish-mash of images from the end of September to the middle of October. Some photos were  taken in my yard, some on the fire road  and at our lake.

Sept 29th, I was seeing at least two Ruby-throated Hummingbirds at my feeders.

Sept 30th while walking on the fire road we found a toad. Luckily, I did NOT step on the toad, it looked camouflaged in the leaves.

Oct 1st, the Yellowlegs was still being seen at the lake, near the mudflat area.  Great or Lesser, that is the question?

Oct 1st, a group of Canada Geese at the lake.

Oct 1st, a Ruby Throated Hummingbird still visiting the feeders.

Oct 10th Marlow, our neighbor's dog.

Oct 13th an Eastern Phoebe on my deck

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments! I hope you enjoy my post and photos too! Thanks to everyone who left me comments on my last post, your visits are always appreciated.

  6. Good morning Eileen. It's good to be able to join in today. You did well to spot that camouflaged toad. You probavly saved its life. Like the "legs", I'm sure it's a Greater. How rather special to have that Eastern Phoebe on your deck and the humminbirds too.

Best wishes and have a lovely day.

  49. Thank you for sharing such gorgeous photos. And for hosting this blog hop. I haven't joined in yet, but I'm hoping to next week as I love photographing our wildlife and have plenty to share from Southern Australia.

I'm always fascinated by what other people see as 'everyday' wildlife in locations far from me, because that wildlife is so different from our 'everyday' wildlife and it is so fabulous to share.

We have no Hummingbirds here (in fact, I don't think I've ever seen one in real life), so they are a treat (and you captured them wonderfully, iridescence and all).

We have toads and frogs, of course, however we never seen them. They are tiny and hidden (unless you travel north to Queensland where the cane toads torture everyone). So I'd consider that photo of the toad a great find. Do you see them often?

Thank you so much for sharing, and I'm so happy to have found a fellow nature fan.

    Best wishes,
    Liz

  65. What a beautiful mish mash :) That toad reminds me of one that visited us regularly out on the porch stoop when I was a child / my mom named him " Terry"

  69. Hi Eileen. I'm running behind on blogging this past week. But I wanted to stop in to see your Saturday critters. What a sweet little hummingbird, and he looks so healthy! The Canada Geese look like they're enjoying the day! It's good you didn't step on the toad...would not have been pretty! Have a great week!

  71. The hummingbird is a beautiful and special little fellow, and these are wonderful pictures of it. They are always fluttering about, and it's hard to get a picture of them, but you managed nicely. Enjoy these Autumn days while they last, Eileen.
