Happy Monday, enjoy your day!
This week I am sharing the Solitary Sandpiper. The Solitary Sandpiper like it's name is usually seen alone, but sometimes small groups may be seen together during migration. They are seen on the edges of muddy ponds, streams and marshes. I found these two Solitary Sandpipers along with a couple of Yellowlegs where a stream goes into our lake. The area is somewhat like a mudflat when the lake is low.
The Solitary Sandpiper is a medium sized shorebird and has a dark back and white underparts. They wings appear to have little white dots.
They have a white eye-ring and a dark medium sized bill.
As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.
My list of memes for today, I hope to see you there. Thanks to both of the host below.

Ah another bird I never heard of before but very similar to birds we have here on shores. I googled it and it is one of the many stilt-walkers. This one occurs only on your side of the ocean.
ReplyDeleteHello, I am happy you learned a new bird, at least one that shows on our side of the ocean. Thanks for the comment. Enjoy your day and new week ahead!
DeleteHari Om
ReplyDelete...somehow that name seems it would work for a blog title... or a music group! A lovely birdie though... it might like it here at the moment, where things are very grey and very wet! Such is the start of the week. YAM xx

DeleteThe migratory birds are here now and the birders are happy again. I am not a birder so i've just been to a site once years ago. They are mostly in the waters. I prefer those in the mountains and trees. We have lots of crows and they get to be pests. I don't know if they are really crows or ravens, hehe.
ReplyDeleteHello, you are lucky to see the migratory birds there. Thanks, I appreciate the comment and visit. Enjoy your day and week!
