Happy Thursday everyone!
EDIT: I am linking up with Favorite Fotos thanks to Lydia at Where the Wild Things Were
I still have some May photos to share, promise these are the last. These were images from the Nisqually NWR near Olympia Washington state. This was our second visit to this wildlife refuge the first visit was Nisqually NWR 2015
The Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge has some nice trails, this boardwalk trail takes you to Puget Sound Overlook and the Nisqually Estuary. Along the boardwalk are several observation platforms. The trail (part grass/dirt and boardwalk) can be as long as a 4-5 mile walk from the visitor center.
We saw lots of Canada Geese families. The goslings were so cute.
From the boardwalk we saw a couple of seals, they found a resting spot out of the water.
The sky was beautiful during our visit and walk on the Nisqually boardwalk trail.
For Tom's Barn Collective I have a couple of photos of the Nisqually twin barns.
The trail takes you past the twin barns. These barns are part of the wildlife refuge.
Some of the birds we saw during our walk at the wildlife refuge, the Hooded Merganser, I believe the top middle are a couple of Gadwall, Great Blue Heron with some Gulls, Ducks, Song Sparrow, Cormorants, Sparrow, Barn Swallow, Tree Swallow.
A view from the boardwalk, gorgeous sky and view of the refuge wetlands.
I am thankful for places that protect wildlife and nature. I hope you enjoyed our walk at the wildlife refuge. I am always thankful for your visits and your comments.
Thank you Michelle for hosting. Thankful Thursday

That sure is a long boardwalk and it would be fun walking along it and seeing the wildlife.
Yes, I am thankful for the wildlife refuges. I like to see the seals at the zoo. It would be great to see them in the wild like that.
Hi Eileen, Such a beautiful place to visit and the clouds were so pretty when you were there. A great variety of birds and seals just make me smile; they are fun to observe. Wow, on those twin barns. Great find. Have a nice day.

Greetings from India

What a wonderful boardwalk trail, Eileen!
Wow, that boardwalk is amazing. I'm trying to think only about the cute goslings, though so that old song about a boardwalk won't get stuck in my head. LOL Do you know the one I mean? Great post, thank you for sharing your photos.
This looks like a magnificent wildlife refuge. I love the water and those barns are so handsome!
Oh I'd love to walk along the boardwalk trail.
Love the twin barns.
The goslings are super cute..
I'll bet you enjoyed seeing all the birds! Lovely place.
Those seals look like they haven't got a care in the world.
I'd love to go for a walk around here. Lovely photos. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous! I love seeing the geese and those twin barns...sigh...LOVE those! Thanks for linking up today!
Great use of leading lines. And I love those barns
Thank goodness for wildlife refuges! This is a beautiful set of photos!
I saw this earlier on my phone and thought I have to look at this on the computer...I so love that boardwalk. But those barns...oh, my, Eileen. I LOVE them!
I love the pictures - What a beautiful day you had to take them! I agree with you about protecting the wildlife sanctuaries. I'm saddened and very concerned that there are some in the political arena, that want to take that away.
This part of the country is so beautiful! Love the barn shots and also the mud flats. Great photos, Eileen!
What a beautiful refuge! It hurts my heart that the government wants to drill for oil in the pristine Arctic Refuge. I have been writing my Senator for months to vote against this, but it was added to the tax bill.
Love the variety in your post. Beautiful collection of pictures.
The barns are really beautiful.
Worth a Thousand Words
Excellent images, Eileen. I have been there years ago before they redid it---made it better I am sure. Love that last picture of the mudflats. Have a dandy weekend

...occasional I see arched rood barns in this area, but they are rare. The second pair must have been dairy barns at one time. Thanks Eileen for stopping by, enjoy your Thanksgiving.

You had some beautiful weather for Nisqually. Wonderful photos, Eileen. I've seen the signs for it on our trips from Seattle to California but of course we're always in a hurry to get to our destination. Happy to see your great photos.
