Happy Monday! Wishing everyone a great day and new week ahead.
Hubby and I often take walks on our local fire roads in our neighborhood, we can also take side trails to the lake. The lake is a reservoir for Baltimore City's drinking water. These are some images from late Oct-Nov 2017. The state's DNR allows bow-hunting in this watershed area, trying to control the deer population. We have to pick and choose when we take our walks on the fire roads from Sept thru January and hunting season.
We often see Double-crested Cormorants at our lake, sometimes groups of them. On this day we just saw one perched on a tree branch sticking out of the water.
The Waxing Crescent moon on Oct 24th , I took this photo from my deck.
As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

Oh my Eileen, you get such wonderful shots of the moon. You must have a super camera. Always a pleasure to visit your blog. I wish you a beautiful new week.
ReplyDeleteSo happy I can share this world with you.
ReplyDelete:)
Take care along those fire roads Eileen. Seems strange from over over here that you have bow hunting along the same roads that people walk. Enjoy your week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely place to walk by the lake. Your moon shot is glorious!

Our skies are full of birds right now, flocks migrating to the south. I recognize the cranes and the storks but not the smaller birds. And I love that photo of the moon! You must have a fantastic camera.

Such a gorgeous place to walk, Eileen! Love those colorful reflections in the water! Make sure you wear your red plaid flannels during hunting season :) x Karen

That first photo is absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures and that moon has me speechless!!! WOW.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have had a great day. I love these pics...and the moon shot is awesome.
ReplyDeleteIf I were you and I could I would get some hunter orange to wear if I was anywhere near during hunting season. Most hunters try to be safe, but my husband would not even hunt on opening day of gun season. Here there is turkey hunting during mushroom hunting season and there are places I will not go then even though they would be good for mushrooms.
A beautiful place to walk. The moon is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSuch an incredible series of photos, Eileen. Fall has been perfectly beautiful as well here in NYC. Enjoy it while you can..
ReplyDeleteLove that pucture of the lake.
ReplyDeleteEileen, these photos are so gorgeous. Love the reflections! Happy new week to you!
ReplyDeleteThe fall colors are so gorgeous, especially when reflected on the water. You take absolutely beautiful walks.
ReplyDeleteAmazing place, Awesome pics.
ReplyDeleteGreetings.
You take the best moon shots, Eileen! Do you wear an orange fluorescent vest when you walk during hunting season? Many people wear them here when they go into the woods so they are not mistaken for a deer.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous autumnal colours!
ReplyDeleteOh glorious nature as captured magnificently.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures Eileen, they are superb, but, the one I love is the moon, excellent.
ReplyDeletenice place to have a walk. beautiful moon photo.

I agree with Pat in Colorado. I have the same camera and my moon shots don't come close to yours. (even with your kind instructions) I'll just have to keep trying. Happy Day.

ReplyDeleteEileen - I like the one with the sun shining through the trees ... so symbolic of the season coming to a close. And the moon shot - super!

ReplyDeleteThe colours make me sigh with pleasure.
ReplyDeletePleasant Autumn shades...

What a beautiful photo of the moon, Eileen! It is absolutely amazing! Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI can well imagine that you would need to be careful when a bunch of hunters are walking around with bows. Just returned from Cuba last night, so starting to catch up. The Internet connection there was pretty poor.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, As always, I so enjoy your photography. The moon shot is great! And that first photo, with the reflection ... well, you should get it printed up as a postcard. Just a great shot! Thanks for sharing and have a happy week. I always enjoy your blog. John
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful, wonderful colours in your first photo! And your moon shot! Fantastic. I wish I had a proper camera these days, instead of just a cell phone, when I see photographs as magnificent as yours.
