I am sharing some Florida birds from my archives. I saw so many great bird and critters while in Florida, these are a few of my favorites.

The Pileated Woodpecker was always a great bird to see..

  10. The owl is my favourite today, those tufts, and what a place to nest. Guess when the lights are turned on, he/she will get some extra warmth.

  21. LOL, we had a Pileated Woodpecker visit our yard last weekend while my brother was visiting us and it was like shock and awe for him when he saw him on our tree. "Look, look, look .....at that BIG BIRD." We see them all the time. It was like seeing him as a little child again, full of wonder. Have a great day.

  46. I love those "Woody the Woodpecker" woodpeckers. I admit .... in all my years in Florida I've only seen a few and NEVER managed to have my camera with me when they were there. LOL

  52. Cool sighting of the Great Horned Owl nest upon the utility pole...and the Armadillo is wonderful. I haven't seen one down in FL since about the 70's.
    I am going to try and catch up a little. Funny...I will get on here these past couple of weeks, be right on something, either typing, shopping, Face-booking and the next thing I know I have been asleep for two hours. I am nearly done with the heavy medications and so I feel better.

  56. Your Woodpecker always amazes me. A handsome fellow he is. Ours looks a bit different here. Wow, I've never seen an armadillo that close-up before. Those whistling ducks are so sweet.

    Nature is surely beautiful in November, isn't it?

  59. Eileen - Do the ducks actually whistle? I was surprised to see the owl on a nest so out in the open - is that normal? Thanks for including the armadillo - I don't know why, but I have always thought they are cute ....
