Welcome to Saturday's Critters !
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
On our way home from Ocean City, Md we took a detour to the Blackwater Nat'l Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge Md. We drove the wildlife drive twice, seeing many Bald Eagles, Canada Geese, Snow Geese. Tundra Swans and various ducks.
Below I see the Tundra Swans, Canada Geese and a few Northern Pintail ducks.
One lone White Pelican greeted us close to the wildlife drive entrance.
A distance out on the river, the Snow Geese.
We saw a lot of Bald Eagles, it was hard getting all in one photo this shot shows 2 adult Eagles. We counted 6 Bald Eagles in this one area all just sitting in the trees.
This Great Blue Heron had a mouthful of fish.
Adult Bald Eagle and a juvenile Bald Eagle on an old Osprey nest.
We saw many bald Eagles on the nest, this nest below looked huge even from a distance.
A Bald Eagle takes off after seeing the Snow Geese take off.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !

That last shot is all kinds of wonderful! YAM xx
Eileen, that certainly was worth talking the detour and good idea to do the route twice You certainly saw some wonderful birds and took great shots. Love how you catch in the act, the Cormorant eating his dinner. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful weekend.
Love your photos as always Eileen - Hey good job we don't have a Bald Eagles nest happening on our balcony!
Thank you for hosting.
Happy Saturday.

Hello Eileen,
Wonderful series of these different birds.
The pelican, sea eagles and the blue heron are really beautiful.
Best regards Irma
It is wonderful to see so many Bald Eagles, a sure indicator of the extent to which their numbers have recovered. And looking at the Great Bkue Heron it never ceases to amaze me just what they can swallow!

Thanks Irma! Enjoy your day and weekend!
The close-up of the heron with the mouth full is great! Have a great week, Eileen!
What a shot of the Great Blue Heron eating a fish. Love all snow geese and Bald eagles too. Thanks for hosting this meme. I'm glad to be back! Have a great day.
Love that heron having a snack too and those big flocks of geese! Wow! And always amazing to get to see Eagles. I looked back at my journal and saw that we saw several last March so we are on the look out now! Enjoy your weekend!
Great photo of the Great Blue and lunch! It's sometimes amazing what they can eat. How nice that you saw so many Bald Eagles. They're few and far between here.
That looks a very exciting day Eileen. Even though the geese are away from you your picture shows the spectacle . I wonder if that eagle thought there might be a meal in the offing? The heron made me smile - that's some meal.
Thanks for the link today. Enjoy your weekend.
WoW!! what an exciting day eileen!!! the great blue with a mouth full of fish is incredible, talk about perfect timing!! the snow geese are an incredible sight as well, i have never seen that in person, only here on your blog!!
of course my favorite sighting is the bald eagles, they are just so stoic to me. what a thrill, even just to see them here!!
a great selection of photographs today, many thanks for hosting!!
Excellent photos Eileen. I really like the shot of the 2 Eagles, the juxtaposition is perfect! AND wow how many Snow Geese did you count in that flock? I'm sure your check list had an X on it as it could be in the millions!
We'll soon start seeing the pelicans here. I can hardly wait.
Have a great weekend,
Andrea
Wow! That’s a great take off of geese all together and refuge looks peaceful with birds at their own pace.
Happy Weekend
As much as I love eagles...that photo of the snow geese is just incredible!
Fantastic 'feathered friends' photography!
Happy Day to you,

Thanks in advance

I'm always amazed at how huge some of the eagle nests can get.
awesome shot of the Eagles on the wrong nest. LOVE that white pelican.. I was thinking when I came here that I don't see or take photos of critters except the BIG BLACK one that lives with us, and then I realized I just said to Bob, the front yard is full of ibis. a flock of 20 plus has been hanging out for the past few days... I just don't take photos of them, now if it was a litter of pups I would snap myself silly. or anything with four legs
Hello Eileen,
Wonderful images! The White Pelican and The Eagles are very pretty. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Weekend!
Wonderful critters. That white pelican is something else. I think I've only seen the brown variety. Those eagle shots are amazing. Happy Saturday to you!
You have such an amazing variety of birds in your part of the world, and you do a great job photographing them. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Eileen, as to your comment I do hope that bird is a Purple Finch but when I posted it on the group Western Washington Birds and called it a Purple most of the comments there said House Finch so I bury my head in the sand--LOL.
I do appreciate the comment and will look at the bird closer. Thanks

Happy Saturday to you Eileen! I'm trying to do a 3-mile walk daily and post about it. I think I've got a couple of pics in today's post that qualify for Saturday's Critters. Came over here to link up and WOW ... What a lot of wonderful pics you have here! You set the bar so high! :-) I love the inspiration. Thanks, as always, for hosting, sharing, and for the kind comments you leave for me. Have a happy weekend! John
The Snow Geese are beautiful to watch when they take off in such large numbers.

Quite a rich mix of birds!
Mother Nature is OUTSTANDING, and I always love to come into contact with all of it! THanks Eileen for sharing your love of all of GOD'S CREATURES! I've posted a shot of a PIEBALD DEER...first one I have ever seen...ALOHA!
What a great place for wildlife-watching! Love your photos-- the herons, eagles geese and swans-- all!
I can't get over how large those Bald Eagles are! They look like they could carry off a small dog if they wanted to!
Beautiful array of water birds, I love the Pelican and the Heron finding it different to eat.
Hello Eileen what a lovely collection you have for us this week, especially the Eagle captures, the huge flock, oh my that's a lot of birds, but what also stands out is no winter views! Yes. So ready for spring! Enjoy your weekend.
Very nice !
Love the eagle and what a fantastic shot of the heron eating the fish!!
I was utterly shocked to read that you loved the purple die on that dog in Ireland. Really? That is how you want to see the creatures you love?
I would LOVE to see all those eagles, and all the other birds, too. In one day!
The pelican is my favorite. Thanks for hosting.
Wonderful bird shots.
Hello David, I am sure the purple color washes out, it just looked fun!
Thanks so much for sharing this post with us at I'd Rather B Birdin'
What an amazing place to observe nature!
Beautiful photos !
Happy weekend !
Fabulous photos. I love the variety of birds, young and old and the feeding heron is priceless.
I added a picture from zoo
How fortunate to have a refuge nearby. A wonderful source of birding opportunities. Your close up of the heron is wonderful. I also watch a live cam for eagles but the sibling rivalry in the nest is not for the faint of heart!
Great shots of the Eagles

This is such a great refuge for the water birds and it’s amazing to have so many eagle nests! Makes me happy to know they’re doing so well. Thanks so much for hosting.
The eagles are so beautiful and I love your photo of the Great Blue Heron with the fish in its mouth.
Absolutely gorgeous shots Eileen! Looking forward to more Saturdays
love the last shot most
