Our World, My World

Happy Monday,

September has flown by for me, it's been busy with lots happening. Our son's wedding is this weekend. We are looking forward to the wedding and welcoming a daughter into our family. I wish them much happiness.

Some images from around my yard, we still have some flowers blooming like the Morning Glories, Lantana and the Upright Fuchsia.

I am guessing at this id, a female Black-throated Blue Warbler. She has been hanging around feasting on the berries. Sometimes I see her on my deck railing enjoying some of the peanut suet balls.

The male House Finch has been a visitor in the yard recently.

As of 9/26 I am still seeing the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in my yard.

Our walks have been on the local bike trail, below are some scenes from our last walk.

Me and my shadow at the bike trail.

Some days we can walk on our local fire road trails, our weather is still summer like. Warm days and no rain.

I am not sure what these berries are called, the red stems are pretty.

I always enjoy this local trail, we are lucky this is in our neighborhood and there are no hunter's trucks parked nearby.

Please check out and visit the following memes and links. I hope to see you there.

  1. Hello Eileen,

Beautiful photos! The berries was very pretty, but I don't know them either. I envy you the hummingbirds. They are very cute.
    Happy new week!

  2. I haven't seen a hummingbird here for over a week now, so other than for an odd straggler, perhaps, I suspect they have departed. Maybe one of the birds from my backyard stopped off in Maryland to see you!

  15. Lovely shots.

I wish I could draw house finches to my feeding stations. They'd rather hang out at the gas station, though. Sigh.

  30. A great looking trail for walking and birding! I have yet to see the female Black Throated Blue, but I'be been on the look out that bird that looks almost like a titmouse, but with that little white spot on the wing! So I'd say you got one. Love that fungi/mushroom on the tree...Have a great week Eileen!

  31. Congratulations to your son. What fun to have a wedding, and all those relatives to see and chat with! And now you get to meet a whole new batch of them! When my oldest got married in April, I was disappointed that not many of his new wife's relatives could make it. So my side made up for it!

  35. Eileen - congratulations to you, your son and your future daughter-in-law! I pray that all will go smoothly this weekend. I was still seeing a hummingbird last week, but if it was smart it got out of here before the light snowfall we've had over the weekend! I love the collage from your walk, especially the picture with the light shining through the seed heads. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

  38. Hi Eileen!

Det är verkligen något att vara tacksam för att få bo så nära naturen i vackra omgivningar. Fina bilder på spännande fåglar, här har vi inte alls den variationsrikedomen, ganska artfattigt när flyttfåglarna drar sig söderut.
