Saturday's Critters #340

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Happy Father's day to all the Dads!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

I am sharing some of my yard birds, these are seen daily at my feeders and in the yard. I have been enjoying the bird sounds in my yard too. I have Gray Catbird and a House Wren that seem to have a competition going on who can be the loudest.

Two female Downy Woodpeckers are hanging out on the pergola, waiting for a chance at the suet feeder.

This looks like a young Blue Jay. I have seen the Blue Jays and the Mourning Doves spread out like this before. I assume they are drying or sunning their wings.

I see a few female Cardinals on my deck, usually more often early in the morning and later in the evening they appear.

Thanks to all my visitors and for all the wonderful comments. I appreciate everyone who loves critters and has linked up their critter post. Check back later for replies to your comments.

Here is my linky:

Also visit:  I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the host Anni.

  28. I must agree with many comments above, that Blue Jay posing all splayed out is an awesome shot, Eileen. I hope you're well, Happy Father's Day (in Australia, Father's Day is celebrated on the first Sunday in September. Father's Day is in June in a fair few countries, but is actually on about 17 different dates around the world. Apparently the main reason it is held in September in Australia is because we have a lot of other special days around April /May and holding it in September is better for sales!)

  44. I had to take the bird feeder down because of a squirrel and then he brought a friend. Between the two of them they broke one of the feeder windows, stupid squirrels. I miss the woodpeckers and cardinals, they seemed to be the most frequent visitors along with the finches. Great photos, especially the one sunning its wings, love it. I wonder if I should get suet instead or will the squirrels go for that too?
