Saturday's Critters # 374

 Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Hello and happy Saturday!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

Feb 12-15th, is our Great Back Yard Bird Count weekend. It is a citizen science project, share your love of birds.

Since I have not been anywhere, I only have some of my yard birds to share today.  I hope you enjoy, they are all beautiful.  I am cutting back my computer time to just once a week post on Saturday's. You may still see me commenting and visiting your blogs, just not as much.

1.  The Hairy Woodpecker with a Carolina Wren, a Gray Squirrel in the background is a male Cardinal, Pine Siskin with a Dark-eyed Junco and a Cardinal in the background.

2.  A closer look at the Pine Siskin and the Dark-eyed Junco is sitting in the feeder.

3. American Goldfinch, Northern Cardinal and a Carolina Chickadee.

4. A closer look at the Carolina Chickadee.

5. A single photo of the Hairy Woodpecker with the Carolina Wren.

6. A Northern Cardinal, lately I have been seeing 5-6 males and a few female Cardinals.

It would be nice to look out my window and see a "new to my yard" bird.  I have a wish list of "want to see in my yard" they are: Evening Grosbeak, Common Redpoll, Red-headed Woodpecker and missing this year Brown Creeper.  Some of these birds are seen in my area this year, but they missed my yard.  When I pass by my windows, I always look out just in case a new bird suddenly appears.

Thanks to all my visitors and for your comments. Stop back to see any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves critters and has linked up their critter post.

Here is my linky:

  16. Great yard birds. We can't have a feeder, but the lake and neighborhood wetlands are a nice substitute. Yet, no hope to see a Hairy Woodpecker, a junco or Pine Siskin. Only had goldfinches in two out of the 16 winters we have lived here. In 2014 there was an invasion of Carolina Chickadees, but they usually don't make it quite down to southern Florida and they are common about a three hour drive to the north. Love the design of your hanging feeder.

  17. Dear Eileen,
there are many birds in your yard that we never get to see in our country. Fortunately, we also have woodpeckers - but I only see (and hear) them in the forest, never in the garden. Such a beautiful red cardinal would of course also be on my wish list :-)
    Happy weekend!

It got down to 26F and I was anxious this morning to see if my hummer feeders froze up. They did, except for one I put a heater on! Yes, they make heaters for hummer feeders. Put some pics on my blog and linked up with you today. I enjoyed your photos today and I always am impressed with how many different kinds of birds you see. Thanks for sharing and hosting!
