Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Hello and happy Saturday!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
I am sharing some photos from April 13th and our walk on the nearby NCR Bike trail.
1. April 13th some of the nature scenes included a few birds, White-tailed Deer and lots of flowers.
2. We saw 3 White-tailed Deer running across the bike trail. I could only capture the last one running off. Can you find the deer? A blink of the eye he was gone into the woods.
3. I am not sure of this Hawk, possibly a Cooper's Hawk or Sharp-shinned Hawk. It flew across the river and landed on the ground. I am sure something was under this hawk's feet.
4.The Eastern Phoebe has been seen near the river and bike trail often during our walks.
5. April 15th our walk to the lake with the grand-dogs. Nothing new seen on this day the usual Canada Geese and some Double-crested Cormorants.
6. April 16th on our deck railing the White-throated Sparrow was eating some peanuts.
7. April 16th, our walk to the lake with the dogs, again we saw more Double-crested Cormorants hanging out.
8. April 17th, hubby and I hiked at the nearby Hemlock Gorge area, I heard the Lousiana Waterthrush calling but it would not pose for a photo. I did capture 2 Canada Geese with a Mallard.
9. April 20th, our walk to the lake with dogs, we saw more DC Cormorants, a first time seeing 3 Terns flying over our lake and a Slider Turtle was out sunning on the rocks.
10. One of the 3 Terns I saw flying around our lake, they seem out of place here. I usually see Terns along the coast. I am guessing with the large colorful beak it is a Caspian Tern?
I am seeing more of our breeders moving back into our area. I have been out for walk on most days, looking for new birds and photos.
Thank you for sharing your critters and post!

The photo of your eastern phoebe confirms in my mind that it was a Phoebe who was in our yard. Those dogs are so cute! Happy weekend to you.
Another wonderful walk with the dogs and some great critters to boot. Im not sure of the tern, I wring my hands everytime I have to ID one...Great shot of the Phoebe, and White Throat...they are gone here now...Hope you survived Friday 13th and now are having a great Saturday.
Great photos!
I especially like the Hawk!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Happy Saturday, Eileen! I love your pretty spring collage and the photo of the path through the woods and the elusive deer. Your grand pups are so fortunate to have such wonderful walks every day!
Beautifully captured birds, flowers, and deer.
I think it is in the nature of deer to flee in the blink of an eye, since I have witnessed this while driving through a forest.
I wish you a wonderful weekend.
Hello Eileen, thank you for sharing these beautiful critters. the Sharp Shinned Hawk is stunningly clear in your photo. Thank you for hosting this meme. I have linked my post. And thank you for always visiting my blog Much appreciated. Have a great Saturday, Jo
Wonderful spring walk. We are finally getting warm (even hot) days here in Connecticut. Yes, your tern has a rather large and massive bill, resembles Caspian more than Royal Tern.
Was so used to that wherever I would go to live there would be sparrows. Not here in Austin TX!
Thank you Carol!
Take care, have a great weekend.
Thank you Ellen!
Take care, have a great weekend.
Thank you Sondra! I never think about Friday the 13th, until someone says something. The tern was a distance away and my photos were not very clear for Id purposes. The Tern's orange bill really stood out. Take care, have a great weekend.
Thank you Lea!
Take care, have a great weekend.
Thank you Pat! I loved your deer photos, great closeups. Have a happy weekend!
Thank you Jeevan!
Take care, have a great weekend.
Thank you Jo! Have a great day and happy new week!
Thank you Ken! The Tern's orange bill stood out as very large considering how far away the Tern. Too far for a clear photo. It is very humid here. Take care, enjoy your weekend!
Thank you for the comment and visit.
Take care, have a great weekend.
I do so enjoy the walks that you take us along on, Eileen. The grand dogs must really enjoy them too.
Dear Eileen,
of course I see the deer! Animals can be sooo fast - it's really difficult to press the shutter button at the right moment on the camera. I'm all the more fascinated how close and clear and sharp you caught the Hawk and the Eastern Phoebe. There were also many other great critter sightings - and your grand-dogs look in the photo as if they were smiling friendly into the camera - "Cheese!" :-DDD
All the best, Traude

The cormorants appear to be having a good time. Thanks for sharing.
Hello and thanks for sharing the variety of beautiful critters. My absolute favourite is the hawk.
Happy Sunday and enjoy nice moments with your dogs!
Lovely critters, as always! Yes, I could find a deer on the trail. The Hawk is stunning and The Eastern Phoebe is such a cutie.

It struck me, I don't recall commenting. I am getting so forgetful!
You get so many wonderful captures! Love the one looking down the trail, and yes I did see the deer right away. They sure are quick when they want to be.
Wow...you've seen quite a lot on your walks. Great photo's. I wish I had some place interesting to walk; but ...for now have to settle with walking through the neighborhood and to the parks. And you just don't see lots of interesting things along the way. Thank goodness I listen to audio books when I walk to pass the time, otherwise...it would be a real chore. Keep walking and sharing your photo's.

Thank you Alan! I see the Cormorants all around our state. Take care, enjoy your day. Have a great new week!
Fantastic series here Eileen. The portrait of your hawk is amazing. This morning I went outside and a hawk flew right out of the small tree we have next to our garage. It glided out of the neighborhood and no time to get a camera, but he was a lovely sight.
Those were interesting walks! Like you, I love to travel but am glad to live somewhere with nearby walks as well!! I saw some tiny tiny terns when we went for a short boat ride the other day; no way to get a picture. Are you going to miss those grand-dogs when they go home? Thanks for all you do!
Beautiful Eileen, my favourite is the Cooper's Hawk, (it has called the Sparrowhawk in English) so good. And Eastern Phoebe, excellent. And the Dogs, love 'em.
White-throated Sparrow looks so beautiful....
love colors combine
Fabulous captures, Eileen!
I especially loved the white-throated sparrow.
Happy Monday!

Thank you Teresa! Take care, have a great day and week ahead!
I doubt we'd see any birds out walking our crazy poodle, let alone being able to take your fabulous photos at the same time. It's a great skill Eileen, bravo. Have a happy week! Wren x
Tried to comment on Watkins Glen State Park , but it says comments off, no new comments allowed. I've camped there a few times. Hubby and I used to go to the car races at Watkins Glen and stay at the park before and after. You sure captured a lot of great nature pictures of the wildlife.
