"All is well, that's my new philosophy."
On Monday Aug 7th we had a bad storm, our power went off, cable and internet was out. Our neighborhood had many trees come down blocking the roads. Luckily nothing fell on our house, one tree in our yard snapped off at the top and fell on one of our rhododendron bushes. I am thankful all is well now. Power came back on Aug 9th and the Cable was back on early morning Aug 10th.
I am thankful we made it home safely from our visit with our grandchildren. It was a scary ride, high winds and heavy rain, we had to take many detours due to blocked roads and trees down.
I am thankful for the road crews, the crew of workers on the power lines and cable lines. I am thankful for my hubby, working on keeping our generator running.
Also, I am thankful my doctor prescribed Doxycycline after being diagnosed with Lyme Disease. A lot of my symptoms are gone now.
I am thankful for calm and peaceful days.
I am thankful all is well! I hope you are well too.
Live simple and be happy! 😊 Spread joy & happiness!

...a storm is one thing, but being diagnosed with Lyme Disease is quite another. Be well!
We have had stormy weather and disasters in Northern Italy too. Luckily my area was spared the worst consequences.
I am thankful for that.
Sorry to hear about your disease but glad the doctor found the correct therapy.
I wish you all the best!
A cascade of unfortunate events, Eileen. As you say, thank goodness all is well. Lyme Disease is not to be trifled with.
Glad that you arrived home safe and sound! Have a wonderful day, Eileen!
Hello Eileen,
I'm so happy that all is well after the storm. The Lyme disease is not nice at all. I hope you will be well in the future too. We had very bad weather on Monday this week, but we are well here too. Right now many places in Norway are very damaged after heavy flooding. The weather has been really bad lately. Take care, and have a great day!
Thanks Tom! Take care, enjoy your day!
Thank you Luisella! These storms, wild weather and wildfires are scary. Take care, enjoy your day!
Thank you David! At first I thought I had the flu, the symptoms were similar. The doctor came up with the right diagnosis and started me right on the meds. Take care, enjoy your day!

Yikes... I am so relieved you had a doctor on the ball with diagnosing! I have known three folk with Lyme and ... well.... Sending lots of healing thoughts to add to the meds. Glad you have survived that scary storm, too. Stay strong! YAM xx
I did not realize you were out and about in those storms we saw on TV. so happy to hear you are safe and sound and that they found out you have Lyme disease, catching it early is a good thing.
That all sounds so horrible, Eileen. I'm glad that all seems well now. Hope that you beat the Lyme soon.
Goodness, what a journey that must have been, especially with you feeling sick. Glad that you've received meds and will be on the mend. Hope all survived the storm around there.
Thank Yam! The meds are helping, I have another 2 weeks to go on the medicine. Take care, enjoy your day!
Thanks Sandra! It was a scary storm, driving on roads that had trees down and wind blown objects. The meds are helping already. Take care, enjoy your day!
Thank you RedPat! I am sure my doc will be rechecking for Lyme after I finish the medicine. Take care, enjoy your day!
Thanks Barbara! Yes, it was a scary drive, I was so happy to get home. The medicine has helped a lot. Take care, enjoy your day!
Oh my, Eileen, I'm thankful that the medication prescribed is helping you! So sorry to hear about the Lyme's disease. Hope things continue to improve. What a scary storm and conditions you made it through. Glad you have a generator! Praying that you recover well and completely.
Sorry about your Lyme disease..Just an FYI!!!! Take the Doxycycline twice as long as he prescribed it..I know several people whose Lyme disease came back (never really gone) after they were finished with the Doxy because it wasn't treated long enough..Common problem..That was really a bad storm but it missed us..I always say there is an umbrella over our town..We rarely get stuff...like today when it was supposed to rain all day..We had about a half hour of light rain and now it looks like the sun will be shining soon..It's only one o'clock..so much for all day!!Glad you are safe..
So you show us that things are not as bad as we thought. I like your philosophy.
I think I must have missed your Lyme diagnosis. I'm glad the symptoms are easing up and hope all is over soon and completely. That trip home would be grim -- I'm glad all is hanging in there. What a storm.
Glad that you are well. The climate change is really palpable in 2023. Hope you are not having too much damage from the storm.
Storm was much worse down by you than here. Sure glad you made it home safely!!!!
Lime disease is scary. I am so glad it turned out well for you!
Thanks Ellen! So far, the meds have helped me. I do feel better. I have another week of meds to take. The generator was a big help, especially to keep our water running and the fridge. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend.
Thank you Missy! I am hoping the 21 days of meds works it's magic. I do feel much better. We did have a good bit of rain yesterday, we really needed more rain. It was a scary storm, my phone alert said to take cover. I was so happy to pull into my driveway. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend.
Thanks Red, things good always be worse. I try to stay positive. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend.
Thank you, we were lucky there are so many trees around our home. I think of all the people in Maui right now, the wildfires are awful. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend.
Thanks Karen! The wind and rain was awful that day, it was scary to be out driving in that mess. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend.

Feliz fin de semana

Beautiful blog
Thanks for your visit and comment. Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend.
i heard about this storm, we were expecting it, but got nothing. i did not realize how deeply it affected others, good thing all worked out but that is a long time without power, it's good you have a generator, we have one also. i am sorry to hear about your lyme dx, scary stuff and no joke. i wish you well and i hope you continue to improve!!
Thanks Debbie! It was an awful storm, electric poles and trees everywhere were down. I do feel better since I started the meds! Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend.
I had no idea about all this that you went through. I am glad that you and your husband are okay and that you got your power on after not too bad a delay. I am so sorry you got lyme disease but am glad you are getting treatment. I try and be careful but those ticks are everywhere. I've cut my really brushy, grassy, bushwhacking type hiking and geocaching to the coldest months of the year now to avoid them.
I think it is amazing how fast the power company can get service restored again and am thankful that they have reciprocal agreements where they can quickly respond to needs all over the country.
Glad you and yours well....and power back
# We in Louisiana have no storm yet ......
The storm and lyme disease both sound very scary, and I'm glad you are recovering from both of them! The storm was amazing everywhere in your area -- my daughter in Fairfax, VA, was also without power for a day. Have a good week and be well!
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thank you Alan! These storms seem to be quick moving and very destructive. One of the main roads here had 30 or more electric poles fall down in the road, during rush hour. Cars were stuck and people had to get out of their vehicles and leave them there. The power companies are working hard. Since taking the meds I am feeling better. Take care, have a great day!
Thank you Tanza! I hope you can continue to be storm free. Have a great weekend.
Thank you Mae! The meds are working well, I am feeling much better. The storm was awful, loosing power for a few days is awful, I am glad we have the generator hooked up to our well water. Take care, have a great weekend.
Ana
Thank you Ana! The weather is unpredictable, seems to be so extreme lately. The Lyme disease is from a tick bite, sometimes a person can be given a false negative and really have the disease. The symptoms are similar to having the flu, I had the fever and body aches, headaches and I also had awful pains in my neck which I already have arthritis pain. My doctor has seen patients end up with Palsy, it is a scary disease. I do feel medicine is helping me a lot. Take care, have a great weekend and a happy new week.
That is good.
Thanks William!
Take care, have a wonderful week!
Me alegra que llegaran bien. Espero que te recuperes pronto de la enfermedad, odio las garrapatas. Un abrazo.
Thank you Teresa! I am feeling better, the medicine has helped a lot. Have a wonderful week.
Goodness! It certainly was a bad storm! Pleased to read you and hubby are okay.
Hope that you are feeling a little better having been prescribed Doxycycline to help with Lyme disease.
Take care, my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan! I am feeling better, the medicine has helped a lot. Take care, have a great day!
