  2. In each springtime, here in the Botanical Garden of Augsburg we can see some special butterflies. But in the garden, in the nature around butterflies are less now. It's sad! There's here in your post eyecatching to see them, dear Eileen.

I think many gardeners are using pesticides, which is really bad for the butterflies and all insects.

These are jewels of nature! We have been lacking in butterflies this year. I think I may have only seen three different ones apart from one meadow that had a whole flight of Common Browns... YAM xx

  11. Dear Eileen, it was lovely to see all these butterflies (and the goldfish too 😊). I know some of them, and I've never seen some before. The "unknown top right" is probably a Battus polydamas (Polydamas Swallowtail). Your hubby really seems to be a butterfly whisperer! A few weeks ago we also visited a butterfly house with our grandson, where there were other specimens to see (and the "star" there was the Blue Morpho, which we know from Costa Rica.) But none of the butterflies sat on our hands...
All the best and have a nice weekend, Traude

  18. Eileen, I love your butterfly pictures. The power of nature is illustrated so perfectly in butterflies. Your post sparked my curiosity and I’ve got to share this, which I found on the Smithsonian website: “Due to their bright colors and visits to flowers, butterflies are the most familiar of insects to humans. There are about 17,500 species of butterflies in the world, and around 750 species in the United States.” I had no idea there were that many species of butterflies! 😊 As always, Eileen, thank you for hosting and sharing Saturday’s Critters. 21. Hello Eileen, you must have seen my writing and perhaps also the photography in the butterfly video on my other (nature) website that i I share this below my writing. I thank you hereby for the lovely comments i had may recieve of my blogs. But I also found your photos very beautiful. The Red Admiral butterfly regularly comes to the balcony since my husband passed away in 2021 and also gives me a message with it. Because that way I know that he are always looking down on me and says that i do it alone good. Wish you, your family, friends and visitors of your website also very nice days. Filled with pleasant hours.
