Happy August, wishing everyone a great month!
Here I am chugging along, sharing photos from June. The photos are from my yard, our walks with Miney on the Prettyboy fire roads. Hubby's treatment is going well, it is something he will have to do for the rest of his life or try for the kidney transplant list which can take up to 5 years.
Click on images for better viewing.
1. June 7th, Miney on the fire road. I hear the Ovenbirds during all my walks, they have a really loud sound.
I noticed on my walks, I hear the same birds in almost the same spot as previous walks. The Worm-eating Warbler is one that seems to stay in an area off of the fire road that is steep hill.
2. We bought some annuals for our deck, below are Honeybells a new plant for me, the Lantana and two different colors of Zinnias. I was happy to see a hummingbird at the Lantana.
"Let the birds of peace, fly around."
3. June 8th, a walk to the lake, we saw lots of Canada Geese and a couple of Double-crested Cormorants.
We have a Spirea bush in our yard, over the years it has grown really big. This year it had lots of pretty blooms.
4. June 10th, Miney decided she wanted to walk through the ferns off to the side of the fire road.
5. June 14th, a couple of the birds heard on my walk were the Hooded Warbler top left and the Pine Warbler top right.
At this time in mid June I was hearing the Cedar Waxwings while I was out on fire road.
6. June 15th, another walk on the local fire road with Miney, at home there was a deer on the neighbors driveway.
7. June 17th, a walk with Miney we saw a lot of Indian Pipe also known as Ghost Pipe. It is not a mushroom but a unique flowering plant. It does get it's nutrients from fungi and thrives in shady wooded areas.
8. My flashback images are from August 2022, a common bird seen year round, in and around my yard is the Tufted Titmouse.
This Tufted Titmouse could be sunning themselves or anting. Both are consider maintenance for their feathers.

Hi Eileen, gorgeous captures. Please give Miney a hug 🫂 🤗 for me. Have a wonder filled weekend.
A "deck"... now that sounds fancy. May I visit? We have an old balcony... Useless as summer still is on vacation...
The Tufted Titmouse looks so cute! Mine today are... ow. Have a happy Saturday!
So many beautiful critters and photos.
Lovely nature captured!
Have a super weekend!
I love the plumage of cedar waxwing. Your walk takes me to your summer from winter
Bless your husband, Miney, and you! I enjoyed seeing the deer and all of your photos, Really. Thank you, Eileen
The Tufted titmouse shot is absolutely my favourite in this post. Although all are lovely critters...including Miney. Good that you have Hummingbirds around your flowers, they must be awesome to watch!
Good luck to hubby and all the best to both of you!
I'll send you a proper comment a little later! 😘
Good Morning, dear Eileen. First... I admire the header with Minnie! And of course all the other lovely captures, especially the birds. Your blooms at the terace are colorful. Yes we need this, I understand very well, I agree.
Further best thoughts and wishes to you and your husband.
Greetings by Heidrun
Hello, Hope your are doing well. Glad to read your post.
Beautiful series of photos, amazing birds, flowers looks beautiful.
Thanks a lot for hosting. Greetings.
Hi Eileen,
This is a fantastic series of photos.
I love the flowers on your patio.
It's wonderful to walk with Miney.
In June, you still hear lots of birds, but here, hardly any birds anymore, they're molting now.
The cedar waxwing and the crested tit are my favorites.
I wish you a lovely weekend.
Best regards Irma
Hello Eileen,
Miney is always so sweet, and she is a lucky dog. The Merlin app is very useful. I use it too. Your flowers are very beautiful! The spirea has a lovely color.
Take care, and enjoy your weekend!
Nice pics again. You meet so many animals of any kind on your walks. This time I have only one pic with two ducks....although I had an eye on the critters LOL.
Have a good time and all the best
Violetta
Oh, I thought my comment lost in Cyberspace... :)))
Greetings by Heidrun
As I scroll through, wonder who is more the explorer and wanderer through nature ~ you, or Miney? Lovely photos, as always, enjoying our walks with you both. And keeping paws and hands together for your husbands well being.

Oh my word, you excelled yourself on this one with such variety and quantity! Glorious. YAM xx
Eileen, que bom teu marido está indo bem e que assim cada vez mais melhore!
As fotos todas lindas! Gostei das novas flores para o deck e também o chupin voando! Miney sempre encanta! beijos, tudo de bom, chica
Hehe, dear Eileen,
Miney’s expression as she peeks out from the ferns is just priceless! It’s as if she’s thinking, “Is this allowed? Oh well – I’m sure I can get away with it!” 😄
It was such a joy to walk along with you two again and share in your discoveries. 🐾🌞🍃
I also believe that birds have their own territories – I tend to spot certain species only in specific areas. And thanks to the Merlin app, I’ve gotten better at recognizing bird calls too. I’m still a beginner, though – I grew up in the city, so I have a lot of catching up to do… I always think I would’ve loved being a country kid! 🐦🌿
I’m so glad to hear your hubby’s treatment is going well – may he continue to receive the very best care!
Please give Miney a gentle cuddle from me!
Warm greetings and wishing you a wonderful August,
Traude

I am glad to hear your husband is responding well to treatment. The transplant list here has a long wait as well.
Love the shots of Miney and the birds…as always.
Miney is fitting in really well. What a great home you've made!
I love the bird sunning!
Good news for treatments, well done.
Beautiful critters, Eileen. Love seeing Miney out and enjoying nature too. Have a wonderful weekend.
So many warblers must definitely make for a concert on your walks. I've only seen white spirea, your pink one is lovely. Hope you have a nice cool weekend.
Hello, Eileen. Lovely photos as usual. The birds are beautiful of course, but I am always happy to see Miney at play. Lantanas are be beautiful, but be careful as they are very invasive and can grow quickly if placed directly in the ground. We have ours in a pot and keep it trimmed. They also produce many seeds, which can fill your garden with seedlings. Thanks for hosting and have a great new week!
Very cool photos. Mom tried for years to attract hummers but they never came. We think the wind at the beach is too strong for them.
Those honeybells are really lovely! I didn't know that tufted titmouse takes care their feathers by sunning. How cool!
It sure is hard to face the health challenges that we are dealing with right now. I'm keeping your husband in my prayers. My husband has serious health problems and it takes it's toll on everyone. Love your birds and what a nice variety you see in your area. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the party! Hugs, Diane
Miney looks cute in amongst the ferns. It was good to read that your husband is doing well with the treatments. I'm glad there are facilities where he can get the treatments he needs on a weekly basis. Hope you have a lovely Saturday.
You hear so many birds on your walks, Eileen. I'm glad your husband is doing well.
Hi Eileen — thanks for sharing another beautiful and peaceful glimpse into your days. I’m glad to hear your hubby’s treatment is going well, and I hope the journey ahead brings continued strength and moments of comfort for both of you. Your walks with Miney sound lovely, especially with the familiar songs of the warblers and the surprise visits from geese, cormorants, and deer. The plants on your deck are a cheerful sight — I’ve always found Lantana to be a hummingbird favorite too! And how interesting to spot Indian Pipe — such a curious and ghostly little plant. Wishing you a wonderful August filled with bright blooms, bird calls, and calm days on the trail. John
Love Miney ~ so adorable and always great photos of birds and animals ~
hugs, an artist reflects
Miney looks like she loves her walks.
The hooded warbler is a very attractive bird.
Beautiful sightings on your walks. Looks like we use the same app for identifying birds. Love it. I remember the first time we saw Indian Pipe, on a walk in a Provincial Park, didn't have a clue what it was but went straight back to the campsite and started looking in the nature id guides, even asked the parks personnel about it. Finally found out what it was, and have seen it many times since. Have a lovely week of walks. I'm linking up the osprey photos we took on our walks.
a wonderful selection of critters today, i can see you are really enjoying the app you have been using. your post reminded me that i have not see one titmouse this summer, i use to see a lot. and the cedar waxwings, i rarely see them but they are such a beautiful bird!! chuck picked up some poison ivy somewhere so be careful with her!! have a great weekend, the weather is supposed to be awesome...many thanks for hosting!!
Your dog is really a great companion on your walks!
Thanks for hosting … mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Miney sure enables you to get your steps in :)
Such wonderful critters! Prayers to your hubby from all of us!
Happy August to you also. I have the plant you call honeybells growing in two places in my yard. We call it a cigar plant, and it is quite a draw for the hummingbirds. We have even seen two fighting over rights to it. Miney is cute framed by the ferns. Beautiful birds and a lovely fawn. Have a perfect weekend. Thanks for hosting the challenge.

Hello Eileen :)
I'm astonished at the great number of birds you can hear on your walks with Miney. Congrats on learning their songs Eileen. Your flowers are lovely, and you chose plants that really attract bees and butterflies, and even Hummingbirds for their nectar They just love Lantana. I enjoyed seeing the Hooded and Pine Warblers, the sweet Tufted Titmouse, and the Waxwing, and also the deer in your neighbours garden. Super photos! :) What a glorious array of creatures, not forgetting the Cormorants and Canada Geese.
