Aug 14th, thank you for all the well wishes for my hubby. He is doing well and he was told his blood work was good. His diet seems to be a daily battle.
1. June 24, One of my favorite local trails goes thru a pine tree forest. While walking with Miney I had the Merlin App recording the birds I heard singing. The Pine Warbler is a regular in my neighborhood and on this trail.
The Pine Warbler has been seen different times of the year here. I know they are breeders in the forest around our home. I hear them singing during most of my walks with Miney. You can see this male has the yellow with black streaks.
On one of my walks with Miney, we were just on the local fire road not far from home, she stopped and refused to go further, she was watching one section off the trail I thought she was scared of whatever was there. I was thinking it was a black bear roaming around our local forest, I have seen them here before.
2. June 25th, my walk with Miney is another local fire road trail. I am not sure what these wildflowers are called.
3. June 27th, I watch the Ruby-throated Hummingbird perched near his feeder.
4. June 28th, since we have had so much it seem I am seeing lots of mushroom growing along side the fire road.
5. June 29th, We walked our local fire road once again. This time I did more of a loop and came to a downed tree we had to cross over. She makes jumping over these trees look easy.
6. June 30th, my birdwatching dog Miney was watching some birds up in the tree next to the trail.
7. Lately on my walks, I have been hearing the Yellow-throated Vireo. I have seen them before in the summer time and my Merlin App has been picking their sounds on my local fire road walks. This Vireo is colorful, has a yellow eye-ring and thick bill, has the yellow throat and it's belly is white.
8. August 2015, flashback photos and a visit to the North Point State Park in Baltimore County. One this day we saw lots of Great Egret, Little Blue Herons and a Tricolored Heron. Below starting on the left are two Little Blue Herons, in the middle is a Tricolored Heron and on the right a Great Egret and another Little Blue Heron.
The transitional mottled Little Blue Heron.
Below is the adult Little Blue Heron

Wow, Eileen, what a sensational series of photos! You have outdone yourself! The greens, the reflections and seeing Miney's beautiful face! Absolutely stunning pictures! Thank you so much for sharing, and have a wonder filled weekend!
Again a new week... and I followed, dear Eileen, with pleasure on your walk with Minnie. Further best wishes for you and your husband.

Beautiful photos Aileen,
I can almost hear their singing!!
Hello Eileen,
Beautiful photos. The Ruby Throuted Hummingbird is very pretty. I wish they were here too.
Miney is always so sweet.
Take care, and enjoy your weekend!
Very cute birds, but to learn dogs are into bird-watching, too: Priceless - have a great Saturday exploring more (and please share then).
Beautifully captures as always.
Have a super weekend!
What a beautiful compilation of the nature walks! I love the vireo, fly catchers. They sing in melody! Thank you for sharing.
I'll come back to you a little later!
Hi Eileen,
What a beautiful place to walk there.
I think the Pine Warbler is truly magnificent, you've photographed it beautifully.
I wish you a wonderful weekend.
Greetings Irma
I'd love to be with you and Miney in a pine Forest! Aloha
Miney is super cute. He is growing on me
Eileen, que maravilha ver de perto tantos bichinhos lindos assim! Os passaros, a garça e me parece que a Miney está bem esperta aos cantos dos pássaros e ao caminho!
Lindo fim de semana!

I love that Miney has learned to watch the birdies too!!! Also that she's on the lookout for any possible predators. The best early-warning system you could have. Have wonderful weekend. YAM xx
Looks like Miney enjoyed the walk as much as you did! Great idea to use the app in that beautiful pine forest. I'm joining you for the first time this week. Judee
Miney is a good birder, such a great pup! Just like Cinnamon cat!
A great selection of birds.
Do Acadian Flycatchers eat flies? I seriously hope they do!! The wild flowers look very unique and pretty.
Beautiful photos as always. Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for hosting.
...Eileen, your husband and me diet seems to be a daily battle. The Swamp Rose Mallow is a nice addition to the Little Blue Heron. Take care and thanks for hosting.
Beautiful birds as always...and I get a kick out of a hummer sticking out his tongue! Pats to Miney. Have a great weekend.
Those are some really terrific crtters! I'm glad your hubby is doing okay.
One wonders what Miney thinks of birds
I love the photo of your dog looking at the birds. You have taught it well.
You sure have a variety of birds in your woods. I don't get nearly that many hits on Merlin on my walks.
I'm glad your dog is aware of predators like bears.
I'm also glad your husband is doing well.
Beautiful photos of the birds, Eileen, and Miney is very photogenic too! Thanks for hosting and have a great new week!

What a wonderful companion Miney is, Eileen.
It's always neat when you see a lot of different birds together. Love the small songbirds too. Happy weekend!
Happy to read that your hubby's blood work is good. I can imagine the recommended diet is tough. Do you take bear spray on your walks? Miney is a great walking companion!
I certainly like the photo with the herons in the wet land.
Beautiful nature photography always here but Miney is my favorite ~ precious doggie ~ hugs,

Love the heron photos, quite a group. A lovely place to walk. I'm joining again today with some real and some crafty critters.
We have been seeing hummingbirds daily...after quite a long wait this year. We've even seen a battle between two that want to claim the territory of the garden beds as their own. I like the close-up photo of Miney, what a sweet expression. Your water birds are beautiful.
Beautiful photos, and your dog, Miney, looked great in the shot. I'm sure your dog has show you some lovely spots.
Dear Eileen,
Miney has such a sweet face 🥰. And she's obviously very protective too—especially if it really was a black bear (or another potentially dangerous creature) that she sensed. 🐻🐺 Even though I think bears (or wolves or cougars...) are wonderful creatures worthy of protection, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to get too close to them on a walk in the woods. On the other hand, I would love to get close enough to your beautiful flock of birds 🐦 to take such wonderful photos of them as you did. And I would really enjoy their singing and the beautiful nature you walk through 🌿🌲🌳. I also really enjoyed your flashback photos. I don't think I've ever seen a Tricolored Heron...
All the best to your husband, I'm glad his blood work was good 👍🏻 and hope the battle with the diet isn't too tough.
Best wishes from Austria and thank you for your lovely comment, Traude

It's good to read that your husband is doing well! There is so much to see along that fire road that you and Miney walk! I bet you spot something new every time you go!
How unnerving! Miney’s instincts are probably sharper than ours—if she froze like that, there was definitely something worth pausing for. Bears are no joke, especially if they’re close to home. Did you end up spotting anything, or did you both make a quiet retreat? Either way, smart pup! 🐾🐻 (Maybe carry bear spray next time? Just in case!)
Thank you Alexandra, for your comment and your visit.
Miney and I do enjoy all our nature sightings.
