A visit to the Jersey shore

Check out the Friday Ark to see more wonderful birds and other animals.

Hubby and I visited the Jersey shore this past Sunday and an overnight stop in Atlantic City.  I had fun checking out the ducks and shorebirds at Barnaget and hubby had a little fun playing poker in AC. So we both got to do something we like to do although my type of fun is free. I have some photos to show of the ducks I saw and my header shot of of the Barnaget beach. This is a great spot to see ducks up close and different kinds of ducks and shorebirds. I saw the Harlequins, Brants, Common Eider, Surf Scoters, Long Tailed Ducks and some others I am trying to id.

I love your idea of having fun and it's free right? I could spend one whole day watching those lovely ducks rushing to get some food or just a day out.

To be with nature, take her photos and get some free entertainments.

That is great.

Theres something about ducks that always makes me smile - must be the way they bob around riding the waves so effortlessly - until you catch a glimpse of below the surface and see their little legs going like crazy lol

Any time you get to spend time with your husband and also go birding is a good time. All the birds you show are ones we don't see here,or at least I haven't seen.

Everyone has it's own happiness. Watching ducks could be a simple thing to do but for some like you and me, it's priceless.

The ducks seem to be enjoying the sunshine whether on the hill or bobbing in the water. Great photos!

Me, too! I;d rather go and explore nature rather than play with chips! Looks like a good weather for bird watching!

I love ducks so I would be thrilled to be able to get out and see some waterfowl. I think the most fun in birding is seeing the bird that takes some work to identify.. like a puzzle. Congrats on the lifer!!!! Thank you for posting to Nature Notes Eileen....Michelle

ah... now you are getting to my neck of the woods. I so wanted to get to Ocean City while there was snow but it just didn't happen. Either roads were bad (it's an hour drive) or couldn't muster enough interest from husband or daughter. Sounded fun to me! Oh well, I did enjoy your pictures!

Love your duck photos. I have never been to the Jersey shore. And I wouldn't have a clue on naming the various kinds of ducks. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment.

What fun to visit the Jersey Shore in the winter! So many birds and such variety in southern Jersey. I've gone to Sandy Hook in the spring, and even then it is crowded with humans.

I love the ducks, I could spend hours on that lovely beach. The Harlequin ducks are one of my favorites.
