Bombay Hook NWR

This is my entry for   Bird Photography weekly  thanks to Birdfreak for hosting.

I am also linking this post with Mary's Mosaic Monday and thanks to Mary of Little Red House.

These are photos of the birds hubby and I saw yesterday at Bombay Hook NWR.  We were amazed at the number of the different  Egrets and Dunlins, a lifer for me was my first Peregrine Falcon sighting. Very cool looing bird. We also saw Glossy Ibis, Mallard Ducks, Green Heron, GB Herons, Black Crowned Night Herons, Canada Geese, Yellowlegs, Dowitchers, Blue Grosbeaks, Eastern Phoebe, Eastern Kingbirds and Redwing Blackbirds. I am sure I have not listed all the birds we saw and I am forgeting a few. Bombay Hook is a great place to visit during the shorebird migration.

  22. Bombay hook looks like a spectacular place to bird watch, Ellen. Beautiful mosaics!

Peregrine Falcon are making a come back in NYC and I have been fortunate to see them up close of different occasions. They like the quantity of plump pigeons here to dine on. :)

  44. Back again -- out at Cape Hatteras after a couple of ferry rides. It is beautiful here and our phone/internet reception is fast! Life is good!
It was so bad at Sea Level NC, I was sure we would have no reception for the whole time we were on the Outer Banks.

Once again, I love your post and would so love to visit this spot. Thanks for sharing it.

  47. Really beautiful pictures. I have to tell you that once my husband and I were driving when we came upon a group of egrets in trees next to a pond, very similar to your picture. At first, from a distance, we thought that someone had draped the trees all over with white shopping bags. We were very excited to see the birds up close.
