My post for this weeks CAMERA CRITTERS is the White Breasted Nuthatch. It is a year round bird for me and visits my feeders on a regular basis. You can see they have a white belly with a tiny bit of rust, a pale blue on their back and a slightly darker crown. They love the suet, peanuts and the Black Oiled sunflower seeds. They can be seen favoring the big oak trees in the woods across from my driveway. These WB Nuthatches are one of my favorite yardbirds, but then I have a lot of favorite birds.

Oh, OH! Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos. I love Nuthatches (although red breasted is my fav) and I haven't seen one since I moved out here!
Thanks again and have a great weekend!
He is a cutie!!!
Some of the cutest birds ever. I think the wrens are the only thing cuter! :)
Splendid photos of the White-breasted Nuthatch! Always a joy observing them around our feeders.
Great images of this bird.I think they are pretty special as well, but as you say,I think most birds are special.
Great pictures, Eileen.... I love the nuthatches. They will talk to me from the trees when I am outside.. They LOVE peanuts--and when I put them out, they are always right there to snatch some....
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Pretty little guy!
I'd go nuts..I enjoyed this and what striking pose (smile)..your header is the best!!
Good pictures of the nuthatch!
Great shot of the nuthatch- I need a camera with a telescopic lens--I'd love to take pics like this. Your Snow Geese are beautiful --I don't think I have ever seen that many together at once--awesome sight. Thanks for the nice comments--always happy to see your name on a comment. Have a great weekend. Mickie
Love how you captured this nuthatch! One of my favorite species also!
Nicely done! You can still see little crumbs on its beak. Will be going out tomorrow to photograph some birds too.
Oh che dolcissima foto che abbiamo oggi !!!
Mi piacerebbe molto poterlo accarezzare !!!
Buona giornata.
Myriam :))
I love his blue and grey stripy feathers. Great capture too and entertainment while you dine.
What a cool bird to have in your garden!
Nice shots Eileen. It must be great having those lovely little fellas outside your window.
What a lovely view you have from your window.
Hi Eileen, I agree! The White-Breasted Nuthatches are so perky and interesting. Always in motion, these little birds are sometimes comical in their daily action. Have a wonderful day!
They visit our feeders all year too. Love to watch them!

Lovely close-up of a WB Nuthatch! I see I somehow missed your last post on the Snow Geese: those photos are magnificent, particularly the last one with the whole flock up in the air!
What a pretty, pretty bird:-) We have only one species of nuthatch in UK but I'm always delighted to see them.
This is a very beautiful and lovely bird! :) Thank you for sharing these great photos! Have a delightful Sunday! :)
Oh, this is a lovely bird, Eileen, and you got such terrific shots of it! I have never actually seen a nuthatch, so am happy to enjoy your pictures...:)

Great shots of the White-breasted Nuthatch. We also have them. Some winters we also have Red-breasted, but not this year.
Lovely shots of a pretty bird!
He's a real cutie that looks like he has a bit of attitude!
Wow, very nice capture of the bird. He is so cute.
beautiful captures!
They are beautiful birds and make life more interesting by their presence at the feeders. I love to photograph them.
Nice captures of great birds!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
it looks good. A bit different form ours. :)
You will see lots of Costa Rican birds in my CR Blog. I think I have species enough for the better part of this year. :)
Love these little guys Eileen. They so expressive!
I enjoyed your Middle Creek posts also. That is one incredible place to visit during the migration. You said in your one caption "just a small amount of the snow geese we saw at Middle Creek"; no matter how many one can capture in one photo it still is only a small amount. It is a place one must visit to even begin to comprehend the waterfowl numbers.
The nuthatches are always a favorite in this yard. :0) Nice catches!
A sweet bird! One I've never seen ever. And wonderful pictures. I miss my bird feeders sometimes.
extraordinary!!! so so beautiful the photos are.
