White Breasted Nuthatch

My post for this weeks CAMERA CRITTERS is the White Breasted Nuthatch. It is a year round bird for me and visits my feeders on a regular basis. You can see they have a white belly with a tiny bit of rust, a pale blue on their back and a slightly darker crown. They love the suet, peanuts and the Black Oiled sunflower seeds. They can be seen favoring the big oak trees in the woods across from my driveway.  These WB Nuthatches are one of my favorite yardbirds, but then I have a lot of favorite birds.

These pic's are taken from my dining room window

Please visit Misty Dawn's Camera Critters  to see more cute and wonderful critters. Thanks Misty for hosting and thanks for stopping by my post. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Great pictures, Eileen.... I love the nuthatches. They will talk to me from the trees when I am outside.. They LOVE peanuts--and when I put them out, they are always right there to snatch some....

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Great shot of the nuthatch- I need a camera with a telescopic lens--I'd love to take pics like this. Your Snow Geese are beautiful --I don't think I have ever seen that many together at once--awesome sight. Thanks for the nice comments--always happy to see your name on a comment. Have a great weekend. Mickie

Hi Eileen, I agree! The White-Breasted Nuthatches are so perky and interesting. Always in motion, these little birds are sometimes comical in their daily action. Have a wonderful day!

Lovely close-up of a WB Nuthatch! I see I somehow missed your last post on the Snow Geese: those photos are magnificent, particularly the last one with the whole flock up in the air!

What a pretty, pretty bird:-) We have only one species of nuthatch in UK but I'm always delighted to see them.

Great shots of the White-breasted Nuthatch. We also have them. Some winters we also have Red-breasted, but not this year.

it looks good. A bit different form ours. :)

You will see lots of Costa Rican birds in my CR Blog. I think I have species enough for the better part of this year. :)

Love these little guys Eileen. They so expressive!

I enjoyed your Middle Creek posts also. That is one incredible place to visit during the migration. You said in your one caption "just a small amount of the snow geese we saw at Middle Creek"; no matter how many one can capture in one photo it still is only a small amount. It is a place one must visit to even begin to comprehend the waterfowl numbers.
