ReplyDeleteOh, awesome capture of that hummingbird and all those dragonflies, etc!
ReplyDeleteYou have seen some dragonflies that are new to me.
ReplyDeleteOur skies are full of remarkable creatures as your fine photographs show. Take care Eileen, Cheers!
ReplyDeletei love your little hummer in the tree. i can never capture them in the landscape only on the feeders.
ReplyDeletethis is fabulous and your spider, wow!!
Great photo of the hummingbird. Beautiful colors on all the other flying creatures too.
ReplyDeleteYour macro photo's are beautiful Eileen. All so very clear. And I love the hummingbird.
ReplyDeleteLove all your varieties of dragonflies!
ReplyDeleteI would be sad as well, the Hummingbirds are splendid.
ReplyDeleteThose dragons are excellent Eileen.
ReplyDeleteHi there - the hummer is great but the dragonflies are even better. They are a real treat to see close up.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Australia
Love the dragonfly photos-such a nice variety.
ReplyDeleteWe only have the ruby throated hummingbird here in Michigan, so I was amazed on a trip out west to see the variety they have out there....all kinds of colors. They sure are neat to see.
Marvelous closeups. I love it when humming birds perch.
ReplyDeletenice shots
ReplyDeleteGreat post Eileen!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Eileen! I love this lovely little jewel - never seen in real any of them! I also like the nice set of insects:)

I have never seen a green dragonfly.
ReplyDeleteGreat captures.
These mini birds are so cute ! I have only seen them in a zoo !
ReplyDeleteMy hummers are almost all gone now too. I so look forward to their return in the spring. The dragon fly shots are amazing also. I have spiders making webs all over my garden now. Every fall I start seeing them.
ReplyDeleteDo you use a macro lens for your pictures? It is my next purchase.
Thanks for stopping by today
I know you miss the hummers. Me too, and I only saw them for 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteIt's my first visit here via World Bird Wednesday. I really enjoyed your photos, especially your hummer. You seem to have a real knack for quick moving creatures!

I'm sad also...as I don't get them over here in the UK..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images of all your wonderful wildlife.
Pretty bird and awesome insects!! I still haven't been able to catch a dragonfly on film. :(

I love all the tiny creatures that you've captured so well here!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that the males have left already. What? They can't stand the cool fall days as well?
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! I love the dragonflies almost as much as the bird.
Your female looks all fluffed up, as if she feels the chill arriving soon. I miss them a lot too. I can only capture them through my old grungy double pane patio window with a plastic stormer over it, so they are never clear. I have yet been able to catch a dragon fly on the loose either. Yours are beautiful! Faythe @ GMT
ReplyDeletefantastic shots..I can't pic a favorite, they are all so nice.
ReplyDeleteFantastic captures, Eileen! Love that hummingbird, and the dragon flies. The spider has such pretty color and pattern, but it gives me the shivers :)
ReplyDeleteEileen, I feel your sentiment about our soon to be leaving Hummers. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteLove the photos!!!
These are utterly amazing, Eileen. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese are all fabulous pics. It is so hard to capture these critters which move so fast. I love the blue and green dragon flies. Where to the hummingbirds go for winter?
ReplyDeleteThat green dragonfly is gorgeous!! Never seen anything like it!
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots, Eileen. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot of the female Ruby throat Eileen! One thing about all the boys being gone is there is much more cooperation at the feeders ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe dragonfly shots are exceptional too! Love that green one.
Was reading Crevecoueur's letters with students and realized for the first time that hummingbirds are unique to the Americas. Now wonder our German friends were so amazed to see them in our yard...
