I am linking my White Breasted Nuthatch up with World Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes
The White Breasted Nuthatch is one of my year round birds, they often come to my feeders grab a seed and fly off. The White Breasted Nuthatch is a pale Blue above with a slightly darker crown.
They are fun birds to watch as they crawl all around the trees, similiar to how the Tree Creeper can go all around and upside down. I am hoping to see the Red Breasted Nuthatch at my feeders this winter.

The White Breasted Nuthatch is seen in mature oak forests but it prefers pine forest. Most will remain in pairs year round.
They are fun birds to watch as they crawl all around the trees, similiar to how the Tree Creeper can go all around and upside down. I am hoping to see the Red Breasted Nuthatch at my feeders this winter.

Wonderful photos! I see a lot of red-breasted nuthatches here but only rarely the white-breasted ones!
I try to take in all the birds, and the White Breated Nuthatch is certaintly the best, one more for my album, thanks Eileen.

Hi Eileen, These little birds are so comical and fun to watch. They are the acrobatic kings and queens, for sure! I just returned to my home from a long trip out West to see my family back in California where I am originally from. I took a lot of pictures of animals and birds along the way and will post them on my blog in coming days! Have super good days tomorrow and the remainder of the week!

Hi there - no nuthatches in Australia - but we do have a bird called a Varied Sittella, which is not related to nuthatches, but is almost identical. Same niche – same features. Wonderful.

Beautiful coloring on that little bird and it would be fun to watch it on the trees.
These guys are quite busy here as well, flying back and forth from my feeders. I love it when they stop and pose.
They are fun birds to watch. It is funny that I don't have them visit my feeders...but I see them when I visit my daughter who lives 10 mins from downtown Atlanta.

I love the nuthatch too Eileen. We are grateful all winter long for their upside down company!
They are lovely birds and move so quickly they're not easy to photograph! I just read that they stockpile seeds for the winter by hiding them under strips of loose bark.
I love the little nuthatches that live in my yard. Great shots. They move so fast it's not easy for me to photograph them.

Red-breasted nuthatches are regulars at our bird feeder, but we don't see the white ones too often.

I love these little guys. They make me think of Bob Hope with those long beaks that look like ski jumps. His nose was like that as well. In the winter they fuss at me if I forget to leave out meal worms. Fun Birds. Thanks for spotlighting them.
