Hubby and I saw a lot of birds during our visit to Bombay Hook NWR in Delaware. It is a great wildlife refuge to visit in the summer. Just some of the birds we saw are the American Avocets, Glossy Ibis, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Canada Geese, Green Heron, Blue Grosbeak and Indigo Bunting.
I posted a lot of photos.. so click on them to view a larger size.
Glossy Ibis
American Avocets
Juvie Terns and a Sanderling, I am not sure which species of Tern.
Great Egret
Great Blue Heron
Ruddy Duck
Blue Grosbeak
Eastern Kingbird
Indigo Bunting
I hope you enjoyed the birds of Bombay Hook NWR..if you are ever in the area you should plan a visit.

I'd love to visit Bombay Hook as it DOES look wonderful! What a beak the glossy ibis has! WOW!
The Indigo Bunting is my favorite....I just love the blue hue....but I love love all the winged friends you shared here ;)
Lovely birds Eileen.
Marvelous photos of the different birds. I like the Ibis so much, but all they other one too.
Best regards, Synnöve
Wow what a wonderful birdy spot, I can totally see why you had such a great time. Beautiful photos.
You have some truly magnificent birds in your area. That Indigo Bunting is gorgeous. They are spotty here in Arizona. Our common bunting right now is the Varied which is also quite beautiful....but one dare not get too close or they fly off!
Hi There, I'm back after a big birthday week. Trying to catch up a little on my blogging.
Great group of birds, Eileen. Looks like the Bombay Hook NWR is a great place to see lots of them.
Hugs,
Betsy

Stupendous Eileen!!! I hope to some day see a glossy ibis, but I think they're more or less a Florida bird, but I read that the white faced found here in Texas are quite similar.
LOVED the blue grosbeak sitting/posing so pretty!!
